What was the point of including the first 45 seconds of that video?

Did it fall because of the earthquake?

I suppose that it just establishes that nobody touched the section of shelf that gave way first.  Also: I thought that the audio was from the surveillance feed but, no, it is just background at "christianbecca's" house.  LAME.  Although the catastrophic failure of the shelving was pretty impressive.

Have you seen that video of the guy trying to push a tree out of his way while off-roading?  It didn't end well for him.

Shelves don't just collapse at free-fall speed like that. It's obvious explosives were planted inside.

So, that had to have been shot by a cell phone, meaning whoever was filming it was waiting for something to happen.

I'm calling shenanigans.

It looks like they were (shakily) filming a surveillance monitor.  The timestamp shakes with the rest of the picture.  I'm going to say someone got to see it, was all like "OMG you HAVE too see this!!" that got filmed and posted to FB.

factoryconnection: I thought that the audio was from the surveillance feed but, no, it is just background at "christianbecca's" house.

Umm, all christianbecca did is steal that video and post it on Liveleak. The video seems to have been made by filming a security monitor.

There's some copies on YouTube (with no LiveLeak logo).

I still have no idea where this happened or who uploaded it. "Magnet" may be the name of a chain of liquor stores.

YUP, not sure what he thought he was going to accomplish there. The tree is a solid 8" in diameter, and his truck weighs at least 5,000 pounds.

What's the big deal? Use a clean, new mop & bucket and some pantry hose (also new and clean) to filter out the glass and you're back in business.

Yep.
Those wall-mounted units just aren't built to handle heavy weights like that, unless you've got 8" long, 1/2" diameter lag bolts with a damned frame to run them in to.

2013-10-07 09:34:10 PM
Lag bolts are useless except in a few very specific and uncommon applications.

If you can lag bolt it, you can through bolt it.
