Go Cards!

Mark Ratner:   SirEattonHogg: Go... um... er......Dodgers.

I hate to say this, but she would look so much better with smaller boobs.

I like big boobs but I agree with you.

As much as I like living in LA, it's not really a town of tasteful restraint.

Cole has to start game 5, right? No way you can go to AJ

Pulling for an A's/Pirates World Series. I mean, who becomes the underdog here?

I hope so but Hurdle has his "process" I almost expect AJ. He doesn't go off script very much. I wish he had a binder like Girardi.

Well, I guess we'll have to do it on the road.

At least your pitcher won't have to listen to 40,000 drunken louts chanting his name.

phyrkrakr: Goddamn, Pirates Cards is ANOTHER farking day game? What the hell, MLB? Have they had a single prime time game at all? I've been able to watch like 12 innings of the 27 that they've played so far, which does not make me a very happy person.

WOO! Go Cards!

With that out of the way, I just realized that that was Game 4, which means I've only watched 12 out of 36 innings they've played, because fark Major League Baseball. I watched yesterday's game and the last three innings of Thursday's game, and that's all I've been able to see. Goddamn, that pisses me off. It's not like the Cards are the best team in the league and the Pirates have the probable MVP on their club. Oh wait, I forgot that the games are on the Ted Turner's TBS and the Braves still play in Turner Field.

What a bunch of bullshiat, especially since I see that Game 5 is scheduled for 5:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, with the Braves and Dodgers getting prime time again. What the everloving shiat MLB.

Agreed. Not to mention the one game that aired on the MLB network, which my cable company doesn't have.

That is only a sellout if you use Marlins accounting practices. There are CHUNKS of empty seats and not just the tarped-off ones up in the nosebleeds.

Wow, way to get off to a good start Tampa, you farking disappointment.

Boston's gonna in for a rude surprise in the ALCS against a team that can pitch.

TBS sold the Braves years ago, and Ted Turner has had nothing to do with TBS for even longer.

I know AJ got strafed last time around, but Cole had the very good fortune of the Cardinals having never seen him before.  I'm pretty convinced you could throw almost any pitcher at the Cardinals for the first time and they'll have a large amount of success.  Then you have the matter of starting on short rest and personally I'm almost always entirely against that idea.

I think it has to be Burnett, but you yank him at the first sign of trouble.

Also, part of the deal with MLB was that TBS would get the Sunday and postseason packages, on the condition that they stop doing all the Braves games like they used to.

Why does Clay Buchholtz insist on looking like they found him in a gutter?  He looks like you could smell him from the outfield seats.

It's TV markets, has been for years.  It's a farking screw job for the fans of 'small market' teams, but it's nothing new.  For example if the Dodgers finish things tonight the Cardinals/Pirates game is moved to prime time.

Look at the bright side:  As a Cardinals fan you often get to watch more prime time games featuring your team later in October.

Buchholz, by all objective standards, looks like a meth-crazed hillbilly. He is also a f*cking good pitcher. Probably because batters standing in against him have the same feeling that people who have to stare down meth-crazed hillbillies get.

As to your question, I think he doesn't care what he looks like.  Why?  Because he doesn't have to.  Most people will never understand the luxury, but it is quite awesome to be able to have the liberty to dress or look like whatever you want.

On Kershaw, a couple articles up this afternoon at the L.A. Times.  Dylan Hernandez flat-out called Rick Honeycutt a liar for saying they were going with Nolasco today.  A Steve Dilbeck column has Mattingly making it sound like it was Kershaw who talked them into it:

"We talked to him last night and basically say, `Hey, Clay, you've got to be 100% sure. We're not going to take any chances with your career,' " Mattingly said. "That is the last thing we'd do.  And he says all the work I do, everything I go through every start, it's for this kind of game. So he was the one basically saying, 'This is why I work so hard. This is the game I want.'"  But Mattingly said having both Kershaw and Greinke helped drive their decision.  "It's like you've got two aces," he said. "Without Zack being there, I don't think you make the same decision."

You're not, but I think you may have the wrong perspective on people who don't care about how they appear.  Some are new-aged, free-spirited types - and some are, as Cagey B put it, meth-crazed hillbillies, i.e. dumbasses who lack the self-awareness to care about their appearance.  If I were a betting man, I'd wager Buchholtz does not fall into the former category.

That's what ESPN is reporting.   It's a risky move.  They could have kept with Nolasco.  I mean hell, they trounced the Braves even with Ryu's best efforts to sink the Dodgers in the 4th(?).   Even if they blew it today, Kershaw would be 100% well rested for Game 5.

If Kershaw doesn't perform tonight, the chances of the Dodgers recovering in Atlanta are really reduced.
