Muslim Brotherhood? Those guys haven't had a hit since their orignal drummer left in 73. They should be greatful for the attention.

Don't worry, I'm sure someone in this thread will find a way to make this all about US partisan politics.

If the crowd found the location ironic, that didn't dampen their enthusiasm, as the ululating trills of women and the boisterous cheers of men celebrated the return of military rule.

I'm ok with anyone who preaches hate and ignorance getting roughed up a little by the police.

Very nice... I laughed and now everyone is looking at me like I'm crazy...  I know I'm crazy, but quit looking at me dammit...

Here you could say all three sides are bad.  You got the Egyptian military, which has got the country pretty much under martial law; you got the Egyptian liberals who are now shamelessly supporting the military; and you got the Muslim Brotherhood, who kinda did have this coming when they excluded all the other parties from the legislative process, and then claimed that they represented "the Revolution" when they actually sat on the sidelines when the Egyptian liberals were turning out in droves in Tahrir Square.

It's a big ol' mess.  All I can say is, best of luck.

I thought the Republican yarn was that Obama enabled the Muslim Brotherhood to get in power and therefore he is a very bad person. Does this now mean they thank him for finally turning Egypt against the Muslim Brotherhood? Smart money is on "no".

In related news:  It seems that since Kenya was attacked in a mall by terrorists, our servicemen are now targeting THAT terrorist group in places totally unrelated to either one of the wars we currently have running.

So, it's not much of a stratch to see where our government finds an excuse to get involved anywhere and anyhow they see fit.

It's all about proportion.  Both sides ARE bad.  The only reason we don't feel the Democrats sucking blood out of us like a tick is because the Republicans have decided to wear a plate gauntlet and fist us all without lube.

When we failed to stand up for Mubarak, or at least keep our mouth shut about what was going on, we made the rest of our allies over there very uneasy. They're almost all crappy dictatorships and the lack of the US to stand up for its interests sounded loudly with them. It's hard to have angels for allies when you're dealing in hell.

I've seen a lot of people off stage, while they're wearing stage makeup, but it still looks really ridiculous to me.  Never will get used to it.

And the problem with this is...????  I saw a vid on Youtube, about 2 months ago, where 5 Shia guys were beat to death by a mob of Sunnis.  I think large swaths of the Egyptian population could use some sense beat into them.  Trying to reason with them, doesn't appear to be working, so maybe a nice scalp massage will help.  Rinse and repeat, as necessary.

So you prefer them completely radicalized and not restrained and mollified by the trappings of politics.
