had unusually well connected left and right hemispheres of his brain, according to a study published in the journal Brain.

Fact: People often do not have well-connected right and left hemispheres of their brains. In severe cases, they have to wear baseball caps all the time, so that their brain doesn't split right apart. And yet, they live among us and can even have seemingly normal lives.

I'd say a fair amount of people have the same well connected hemispheres that Einstein did, but end up drinking themselves to death just to try and tolerate all of the stupidity around them.

The study focused on measuring the varying thicknesses of subdivisions of the corpus callosum along its length. Thickness indicates the number of intersecting nerves at the spot, which in turn reveals the degree of connectivity-more intersecting nerves means better-connected brain tissue

How to get rich: convince people that you have a way to increase those connections in their brain, "Just Like Einstein!". You can double your money if you say that you've found a way to do it in kids.

Got tired of fixing that for you. It's closer now.

I have a lecture for my developmental psych students this semester examining in detail just how much those don't work. If I can save just one child from the Baby Einstein DVDs, my career will not have been wasted.

Heh. That's what I tell my aunt (who's had a bit of a rough life). Not all drunks are highly intelligent, but a notable percentage of highly intelligent people are drunks. I don't think it's stupidity, though. In some cases, it's trying to fit in and seem normal that break a person.

That one was pretty generic. This would be more targeted.

More often than not a high IQ is connected to a menial job.  The smartest person in the world could be driving a cab right now.

Damn, I would like to hear that lecture, and I've been nowhere near any kind of psych studies.
