"WARNING! This US Government computer is for authorized users only...."

Do they know this is on Fark?

b2theory: "WARNING! This US Government computer is for authorized users only...."

That was exciting. I'm guessing this is an internal site not meant for public consumption. That probably means it's going to get FARKed as soon as this goes green... that, or they might just pull it on principle.

Oh, wait.  I forgot I was probably being completely monitored anyway.  Nevermind!  Back to the moon!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had a moment of doubt upon receipt of that message. But at the end of the day your government spies on me for everything anyway, so what's one more thing?

I don't think it's that you're not allowed to look at it. It specifically tells you all the ways to view it, even in full-resolution.

They're just saying that what you're looking at will be monitored. If you try hacking or cracking deeper into the site you could get yourself in trouble.

I paused, thought, clicked anyway, then realized I had no idea what I was looking at.

It's like being grounded. The threat of being double-grounded isn't all that much of a threat.

I think I read that this and the ISS are the only NASA personal working. I guess they figured they launched it they have to monitor it. But it did not say anything about them getting paid. The NASA guys are pretty dedicated so they may not. I dont know.

Well when clicking on the privacy policy at the bottom I get this:

"Due to the lapse in federal government funding, this website is not available.
We sincerely regret this inconvenience. "

So, I guess whatever you want to do is OK.

Harshed my interest.

To bad with the way money is we couldn't have left that little warning out of the budget.

It's as easy for me to believe a bunch of space and tech nerds would walk away from their toys because they aren't being paid as it is for me to believe we've seen everything they've ever done with Mars landers, and they don't fight over the controls 24/7 like two brothers with a nintendo.

They have some pretty important timed burns to keep $200M in hardware from being gravity assisted into the great beyond instead of achieving lunar orbit.  It hasn't been said if they're just going to leave it parked after stabilizing the orbit and wait until after funding returns to start the science mission, or at least it hasn't been said loudly enough.

Just from me?  about three dozen... if you pick up all the parts and smush them into something kerbal-shaped.

Observation: weathering due to liquid
Observation: many types of rock
Observation: some rocks are metamorphic
Observation: rocks appear to be currently wet
Observation: wet means liquid stays liquid at ambient pressure and temperature
Observation: All of the above conditions only exist on Earth
Hypothesis: Assertion that these rocks were photographed off of the Earth cannot be true

Well, it is true that Earth IS "a planet in space".

Just not in the way Winkus mis-contextualizes it.

We just wanna go looking around in other places for the lulz, maaaaaan.
