1.  Not crazy about either but Chicago might be the better bet with a better chance at a defensive score.
2.  PPR Sproles, Standard Bernard,  Lacy should be good but with him fresh off a concussion and Franklin's performance we don't know if GB will ride the hot hand.  Lacy should be the long term guy though.

/hoping for 60% accuracy, the guys who get paid to do this hope for 65%.

1) DaBears. While the Giants are terrible, I don't think you bench a very good D for a bad one with a good matchup
2) PPR Sproles. Standard Lacy. I think GB puts him right back in the thick of their plans off the bye.

1) Kaepernick or Luck?

2) T.Y. Hilton or Kenbrell Thompkins (like TFA recommends)?

I'm leaning towards Luck and Thompkins.

Is Amendola going to play? I mean, I know at some point during this game he'll blow out his hammy or his clavicle or or his duodenum or he'll be shocked into a terror-coma at the sight of a cricket under the bench and miss the next nine Olympics, but is he going to start or do I put in Hartline (sucks, but healthy) or Shorts (didn't practice, is a Jaguar)?

Luck (Colts at home). Seattle ain't quite so awesome on the road.

I'd go Kaepernick, Thompkins.  That said I'm starting Luck in a league.

Amendola may play and if he does you basically have to start him unless you are stacked at WR.  I'm benching Shorts for Givens this week since I trust Bradford against Jax more than Gabbert vs St Louis.

I'd go Kaepernick and Thompkins. The Texans will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and I'm guessing it will be by allowing Kaep to run for TD(s) in the 2nd half. Amendola is back, but I think Thompkins has gotten synced up with Brady, and Brady does not give a shiat what your name or number is. He throws to whoever understands how he sees the field. I'm still going to start Edelman in PPR as my #3

Leaning towards Thomas since he's got Peyton throwing to him.

I'd only start Edelman if you have too.  He plays the same slot roll as Amendola.  Unless he aggravates the injury immediately Edelman probably won't see that many snaps.  Patriot injury games just makes all Pat decisions a nuisance.

Thomas,  Witten isn't a huge red-zone threat (Giants game notwithstanding)

What do you think?  QB: Russell Wilson v. Colts or Matterception Schaub v. 49er?  And on the shiatty RB situation: Knowshon Moreno or LeGarette Blount?  My other RB option is David Wilson, so...yeah.  It sounds like Blount might get quite a bit of work this weekend, thought, and Denver's committee RB approach thus far gives me a sad.

2013-10-06 10:22:39 AM
Here's an interesting one: Eli Manning vs. PHI (31st vs. QBs) or Terrelle Pryor vs. SD (32nd)?

2013-10-06 10:23:39 AM
Also I know he's supposed to play, but any idea if Andre Johnson's injury will hobble him today?

QB Wilson, unless you get points for pick 6's

RB I'd start Wilson.  I know he's been bad but the Eagles don't have a D in the same league as any of the ones the Giant's have faced.  If he doesn't do it this week he may never do it.  If you're afraid I'd probably consider Moreno. I don't like Blount vs Cinci.

I'm sure it will a little but as long as he's active you pretty much have to start him.

This is interdasting.  I think I'd lean towards Eli, despite the trainwreck that the Giants have been.  The Eagles secondary blows so he might get all Manning-face and go gunslinger on them.  I'm guessing Eli feels he has something to prove, too, after their mess of a season thus far.  I guess that assumes he doesn't get sacked a bazillion times again, though.

I'm rolling with Edelman over Michael Floyd and Roddy White in one league.  His line with Amendola in Game 1 was 7/79/2 against Buffalo.  I don't think the ground and pound game with L. Blount at the head is going to work against the Bengals, and I don't think we see much, if any, Aaron Dobson. today.

My Sunday dilemma is in my other league with the disappointing Mike Wallace.  Considering benching him for for Michael Floyd or Kendall Wright; probably Wright but Fitzpatrick at QB is giving me pause.

I don't think Brady will LET them sit Edelman at this point. Even with Amendola back, Edelman will be on the field.

Maurice Jones Drew might not play like complete garbage this week considering the Rams have a run defense that is almost as bad as the Jags.

I'd bench Decker for Fitz.  Decker missed practice with a hurt shoulder and will probably be rested in the second half when the Broncos are comfortably ahead.

That is a tough one.  I'd probably go with Bell because that game promises to be a shoot-out and the Rams look like they're ready to give up on Richardson.  But then again maybe he finally steps up against the Jags.

You're best bet may be to go opposite of my instincts and go with Richardson. Opposite of my instincts is usually a winning strategy.

I don't like Stafford with Mega being hampered by injury but you know thats going to be a shootout.  Riversface is very hot right now and he's a total dick but he is playing on the road after midnight so maybe Gremlin rules apply.  I'd go Stafford.

Just a feeling.  Davis and Gore make the SF O tick.  Without Davis, Boldin becomes an easily defensible receiver.  I'm actually starting Tate in a league but I'm not expecting much.

Only 12 hours until the Raiders / Chargers kickoff.   Rivers is expecting his 7th child and is a religious wacko who homeschools his own kids.

For my flex spot, I get to choose between Eddie Royal, Torrey Smith, Sidney Rice, and David Wilson. Leaning toward Royal at the moment.

Also, in a different league, someone offered to trade me Greg Olsen and Rashard Mendenhall for my CJ Spiller and Brandon Myers. Trade still valid 'til Tuesday, do I bite? My gut says CJ will break out eventually, but I can't settle for 2 points/game from my TE and the best TE on my waiver wire is that Graham guy from the Texans.

The Ravens specifically said Rice needs more touches this week. They're not happy with Pierce's production and are scaling back his snaps.

Maurice Jones-Drew over Knowshon Moreneo? Leaning towards going with Mo-Jo, because the Rams are the worst in the league against the run, and Peyton Manning has had trouble in the past against the Cowboys.

Tony Romo over Cam Newton? Leaning towards going with Romo because it will be a shoot out against the Broncos and Arizona gets back their ace linebacker Wifebeater Washington this week, which means Cam ain't running.

Hakeem Nicks over Julian Edelman? Leaning towards Nicks because Philly's defensive backs are terrible and Amendola could cut into Edelman's targets. But they say that the Bengals defensive backs are injured and will have rookies in instead, and rookies against Brady means a lot of long plays for the Patriots. Not to mention that Nicks has hands of stone this year.

Been offered a trade in an 8 team 1 point per reception league:

I give up: Reggie Bush

I get: Darren Sproles & Eric Decker

My other RBs:
Doug Martin
Stephen Jackson
Lamar Miller
Danny Woodhead

My other WRs
A.J. Green
Michael Floyd
Pierre Garcon
T.Y. Hilton
Cecil Shorts
Vincent Jackson

Really not sure about downgrading from Reggie Bush to Sproles in a PPR, but like the idea of starting Decker & Green at WR.

So farkers, yay or nay?

Flex Wilson for upside, Smith for safety.  Royal seems to be a paper tiger.

Don't trade for Mendenhall, he may not be able to hold the job.  How can there be no TE's on your waiver wire?  I cut Myers for Cook since Myers will be needed to help block with the Giant OL woes.

MJD couldn't get it done against the Colts' also-terrible run defense (Gore was shredding them until the 49ers decided they didn't need to run the ball in the 2nd half) - I own MJD but I'm still starting Gore, Rice, and David Wilson over him, and I'd start Brandon Bolden ahead of him too. Until MJD proves he can do *something* he's riding the bench for me.

Not saying he *won't* get it done today, but this isn't the first time he's faced a bad run defense. Plus the Rams have had 10 days off to recover and they'll be focusing on the run after the past two games. MJD will be the focus of their defensive gameplan.

2013-10-06 11:48:21 AM

LucklessWonder: Been offered a trade in an 8 team 1 point per reception league:

I give up: Reggie Bush

I get: Darren Sproles & Eric Decker

My other RBs:
Doug Martin
Stephen Jackson
Lamar Miller
Danny Woodhead

My other WRs
A.J. Green
Michael Floyd
Pierre Garcon
T.Y. Hilton
Cecil Shorts
Vincent Jackson

Really not sure about downgrading from Reggie Bush to Sproles in a PPR, but like the idea of starting Decker & Green at WR.

So farkers, yay or nay?

Yea.  Bush may be better then Sproles but in a PPR it will be minimized and Decker will slot in at 3 in your WR rankings.  Green, Garcon, Decker, Jackson, Hilton ,Shorts, Floyd

Nefarious: I Have The Touch of a Shocked Monkey: For my flex spot, I get to choose between Eddie Royal, Torrey Smith, Sidney Rice, and David Wilson.

Thanks for the advice. Charles Clay is also available but I don't trust the Dolphin offense to hold up for much longer. Brent Celek and Jermaine Gresham are also possibilities, but I don't see them as upgrades over Myers. I'm giving him one more week, and then I'll try out Celek, I think.

I would nix it.  Bush is having a huge year.  Decker always torments me when I have him.  You know he's going off for either 20 a couple times and he'll put up 2 a couple times.  With all the weapons the Bronco's have Decker is just too inconsistent.  Plus he has a horrible habit of falling down and dropping the ball when he breaks free for a possible long score.  I just can't trust a guy like that.

I have two flex spots and five players to choose from: Nate Washington, Danny Woodhead, Greg Olsen, Montee Ball and Stephen Hill.  I'm leaning towards Woodhead and Olsen.  Any advice?

I'd go Olsen and Woodhead too but both Washington and Hill are intriguing .  Ball rides the pine until he becomes to leader of that committee.  (Which is looking less and less likely)

I get not fully trusting Clay, but if the alternative is to essentially trade Spiller for Olsen (since I don't think Myers or Mendenhall will be useful moving forward)...     roll the dice with Clay. He's not an elite guy but I think he can at least maintain what he's been doing (40-50 yards, might get a TD). Better than what you're getting with a lot of TEs right now.

Now that Megatron is out today, should I scramble to find a replacement for Stafford? I don't keep a backup QB on my bench. Russ Wilson is available.

Also, I have Bush AND Joique Bell. Is this a week to start them both now that Megatron is out? I don't really have a place in the lineup for Bell since I have Sproles and Demarco Murray going.

Oh good. Megatron out after waiver wire closed. Here's my choices for the flex position(ppr)

1. Owen Daniels
2. Brandon Bolden
3. Keenan Allen

Actually considering Allen. Daniels normally, but the 49ers effectively hate opposing TEs.  Bolden may catch some balls against Cincy though. Don't really have any good choices here do I?

My predicament seems easy, until you really think about it.

Starting QB: Romo or Rodgers?

I know Rodgers seems like the obvious start, but Romo's fantasy season has been awesome, and he'll probably be throwing from behind after the 1st quarter, racking up yards. And Denver's Defense is about par.

Rodgers is going against a better than decent Detroit defense and a bye week, but had trouble with the Bengals defense.

Advice??

I can't stand Vick cause he can go full Delhomme at any time but the Giants are just that bad this year.  Stafford is going to be in a shootout but no Megatron.  I'd go safe with Stafford but both will have pretty big days today.

Historically, Stafford is very pedestrian w/out megatron. and even burleson is out. you're looking at throws out of the backfield to reggie bush (who the pack will certainly focus on) and two unproven WRs...
Also, on the road.
I would not start Stafford here.

It's the Raiders.  You're going to put your week in the hands of the Raiders.  Pryor has not been anywhere near good.  (currently 27th) yes he had a bye but I'd trust Wilson over him. I'd start Stafford over both.

I can see your logic.  I'm not crazy about Boldin against the Texans either.  However, if VD is playing Boldin should be able to do something.  The Panther secondary can be had but you need time for that to be exploited.  I'm not sure Arizona will get the time.

Pryor or E Manning?

Will Manning produce at some point?

I'd ask for advice, but it doesn't matter. My father had Cleveland's D and Fred Jackson and somehow they both managed to monumentally destroy me this week. After Thursdays game, I'm pretty sure his lead is insurmountable unless some of my stars just go crazy.

Hoping it's you Ray!

wjllope: Nefarious: You're going to put your week in the hands of the Raiders.

yeah - I can hardly believe I am doing this. it's MADNESS.

but I am.

Plus with the game being played at midnight you know some crazy shiat is going to happen.  When faced with Madness why not double down and enjoy the show?

Manning.  The Eagles don't have close to the pass rush he's faced this season.  If the line gives him time he can shred them.

Thanks.  Yahoo has all four projected between 10 and 13 points, with Boldin at the low end and Fitz only a point ahead.  Plus, my opponent has Kaepernick, so if he has a good day passing, hopefully that means Boldin has a good day catching.

wjllope: Nefarious: So Rice, Sproles

That's the two I'd pick. You cannot sit Sproles. The NO running game is a disaster at the moment otherwise.
Not sure when Rice is going to show up, but he will. this week?

Even in a standard league?

nbrfwhoooo: wjllope: elguerodiablo: I'd go safe with Stafford but both will have pretty big days today.

Historically, Stafford is very pedestrian w/out megatron. and even burleson is out. you're looking at throws out of the backfield to reggie bush (who the pack will certainly focus on) and two unproven WRs...
Also, on the road.
I would not start Stafford here.

Gah! This is my concern!

Stafford still has weapons and is playing crappy green bay d.  Still better than maybe -5 due to turnovers Mike vick.

I actually really like Rice this week. Last week was an abomination. 31 plays without a run. You can bet someone got chewed out and that won't happen again this week. Look for them to go to Rice early and often.

I'm no expert subby, but I wouldn't start Matt Cassel on a bye week

Let the record show that in just one half, Hakeem Nicks has 120 yards receiving, which in my league is 12 points.

Scoring is, as far as I know, standard.  I'm 4-0 and set to go 5-0, since this week's score is tied, and I have Romo, Witten, and D Thomas against McFadden and Steve Smith.

I'm still wondering if I should trade an RB to try and pick up a top QB, though.  There's no better QB available off waivers, and I am stacked beyond all reason at RB with three of the top six scorers.

QB: Romo, Schaub.

RB: Lynch, Forte, Bush, La'Veon Bell, Snelling.

WR: D Thomas, Hartline, Blackmon, James Jones.

TE: Witten

K: Sturgis (Miami)

D/ST: Bears, Colts, Rams.

The Colts I grabbed last week for the matchup, and decided to keep since they're still pretty good regardless and maybe it's trade bait for depth, or I can play matchups with two outstanding defenses.  The Rams I grabbed this week due to the matchups and I'm going to drop on Tuesday.
