dan_kronske: My predicament seems easy, until you really think about it.

Starting QB: Romo or Rodgers?

I know Rodgers seems like the obvious start, but Romo's fantasy season has been awesome, and he'll probably be throwing from behind after the 1st quarter, racking up yards. And Denver's Defense is about par.

Rodgers is going against a better than decent Detroit defense and a bye week, but had trouble with the Bengals defense.

Advice??

Just don't think you can sit Rodgers.  Romo should be good this week but you just can't do that.

elguerodiablo: nbrfwhoooo: Now that Megatron is out today, should I scramble to find a replacement for Stafford? I don't keep a backup QB on my bench. Russ Wilson is available.

Also, I have Bush AND Joique Bell. Is this a week to start them both now that Megatron is out? I don't really have a place in the lineup for Bell since I have Sproles and Demarco Murray going.

I dont like Murray that much vs Denver.  He'll get 5 carries before they have to throw everydown to try to catch up.  Really close call between Joique Smurf and Demarco.  I'd go Joique too.

That really is the way I am leaning - Joique in and Murray out.

Nefarious: Thompkins since Smith gets Peterson.

elguerodiablo: Thats a really tough one. Neck and Neck. I love Steve Smith but he's going to be wearing a Patrick Peterson suit today so I'd go Thompkins by just a little.

Thanks!  One last one:  Vick or Stafford??

Clay but it's close

Do you need the upside.  Vick has a higher ceiling, Stafford has the higher floor.

VTGremlin: Man, gametime is pretty soon. Megatron is probably going to still be started in 70%+ of Yahoo leagues. Sucks for those folks.

This is why the only t.v. allowed in my house on Sunday is either the NFL Network, Fantasy Football now, and actual football. I have Megatron on both my teams!

I just benched stafford (no magatron) and picked up pryor.  Holy smokes i'm starting a raider QB.

the only struggle I had this week was kenbrell tompkins vs dandre hopkins, and i went with the former.

/go phins

If I have Rogers the only times i'm benching him ever are if he's out due to injury or on bye.

I can't stand Vick cause he can go full Delhomme at any time but the Giants are just that bad this year.  Stafford is going to be in a shootout but no Megatron.  I'd go safe with Stafford but both will have pretty big days today.

Oh and one more, hope Bowe actually produces against the Titans solid DBs or roll the dice on Stephen Hill as the Jets only healthy receiver vs ATL?

I don't think you should bench Stafford.  I'd go Thompkins.

Yeah. I've decide to keep Stafford in both my leagues. Now I just wait.

Historically, Stafford is very pedestrian w/out megatron. and even burleson is out. you're looking at throws out of the backfield to reggie bush (who the pack will certainly focus on) and two unproven WRs...
Also, on the road.
I would not start Stafford here.

Go Bowe, Hill isn't quite cleared yet, he will probably go but if you wait and he doesn't.

Nefarious: I don't think you should bench Stafford.

my alternative was Russel Wilson - who will have a very average day today AFAICT.

so i picked up Pryor. The SD DEF is very very bad, OAK is coming off a Bye, and it's at home.

That's typically my thought process, but I just have a weird feeling...

Also, I am starting Nate Washington over Dwayne Bowe today because I don't see Bowe putting up fantasy points today. Good call or bad call?

2013-10-06 12:38:02 PM

Nefarious: Go Allen, Rivers seems to like throwing to him.  Its not a great choice but is the best of bad options.

Thanks. Yeah I'm going with him for the risk reward angle. Without megatron, I'm a huge underdog, and I cant see Bolden or Daniels putting up the points I need to win. Allen could goose-egg me, but he's the only one of those 3 who I think has even a slim chance of putting up 25

2013-10-06 12:38:42 PM
Bernard Pierce, Ray Rice, Danny Woodhead, Darren Sproles, Bilal Powell. Pick 2. Please!

It's the Raiders.  You're going to put your week in the hands of the Raiders.  Pryor has not been anywhere near good.  (currently 27th) yes he had a bye but I'd trust Wilson over him. I'd start Stafford over both.

Not seeing bowe put up fantasy points is a good call more often than not.

varmitydog: YoungLochinvar : MJD couldn't get it done against the Colts' also-terrible run defense (Gore was shredding them until the 49ers decided they didn't need to run the ball in the 2nd half) - I own MJD but I'm still starting Gore, Rice, and David Wilson over him, and I'd start Brandon Bolden ahead of him too. Until MJD proves he can do *something* he's riding the bench for me.

Not saying he *won't* get it done today, but this isn't the first time he's faced a bad run defense. Plus the Rams have had 10 days off to recover and they'll be focusing on the run after the past two games. MJD will be the focus of their defensive gameplan.

I sure appreciate your reply. I have double checked the stats and I see the Rams are not that bad against the run, they just got down in both their games and the Cowboys and the 49ers ran almost every play in the 2nd half against them. The Jags ain't doing that to them. And I believe that you are right, the Rams will not have to defend against Gabbert at all, even with Blackmon coming back.

No problem. I think that's the big thing holding him back - no opposing D even *pretends* to care about the passing game. Unless Gabbert shows that he deserves at least a little respect, I don't see MJD going anywhere...       that said, I do hope he has a decent game this week as I will be selling as hard as possible if he does...

Standard -- Rice and Powell

Ok call since Alex Smith

Chibi Shinigami: Bernard Pierce, Ray Rice, Danny Woodhead, Darren Sproles, Bilal Powell. Pick 2. Please!

1. Rice
2. Sproles
3 Woodhead
4 Powell
5 Pierce

So Rice, Sproles

I'd say Woodhead and Rice. Although Powell isn't a bad option, either.

For WR and Flex, picking 3 between Boldin, DeSean Jackson, Jordy Nelson, and Fitzgerald.  I'm leaning towards sitting Fitzgerald, just because I don't like the matchup against Carolina's defense.  Any other ideas?

2013-10-06 12:45:37 PM

That's the two I'd pick. You cannot sit Sproles. The NO running game is a disaster at the moment otherwise.
Not sure when Rice is going to show up, but he will. this week?

I can see your logic.  I'm not crazy about Boldin against the Texans either.  However, if VD is playing Boldin should be able to do something.  The Panther secondary can be had but you need time for that to be exploited.  I'm not sure Arizona will get the time.

Woot groinendola over ty vs seattle. Let's do this

Pryor or E Manning?

Will Manning produce at some point?

2013-10-06 12:48:58 PM
I'd ask for advice, but it doesn't matter. My father had Cleveland's D and Fred Jackson and somehow they both managed to monumentally destroy me this week. After Thursdays game, I'm pretty sure his lead is insurmountable unless some of my stars just go crazy.

Hoping it's you Ray!

Manning.  The Eagles don't have close to the pass rush he's faced this season.  If the line gives him time he can shred them.

Thanks.  Yahoo has all four projected between 10 and 13 points, with Boldin at the low end and Fitz only a point ahead.  Plus, my opponent has Kaepernick, so if he has a good day passing, hopefully that means Boldin has a good day catching.

Stafford still has weapons and is playing crappy green bay d.  Still better than maybe -5 due to turnovers Mike vick.

I actually really like Rice this week. Last week was an abomination. 31 plays without a run. You can bet someone got chewed out and that won't happen again this week. Look for them to go to Rice early and often.

2013-10-06 01:08:41 PM
I'm no expert subby, but I wouldn't start Matt Cassel on a bye week

2013-10-06 02:54:17 PM
Let the record show that in just one half, Hakeem Nicks has 120 yards receiving, which in my league is 12 points.

2013-10-06 03:54:22 PM
Scoring is, as far as I know, standard.  I'm 4-0 and set to go 5-0, since this week's score is tied, and I have Romo, Witten, and D Thomas against McFadden and Steve Smith.

I'm still wondering if I should trade an RB to try and pick up a top QB, though.  There's no better QB available off waivers, and I am stacked beyond all reason at RB with three of the top six scorers.

QB: Romo, Schaub.

RB: Lynch, Forte, Bush, La'Veon Bell, Snelling.

WR: D Thomas, Hartline, Blackmon, James Jones.

TE: Witten

K: Sturgis (Miami)

D/ST: Bears, Colts, Rams.

The Colts I grabbed last week for the matchup, and decided to keep since they're still pretty good regardless and maybe it's trade bait for depth, or I can play matchups with two outstanding defenses.  The Rams I grabbed this week due to the matchups and I'm going to drop on Tuesday.
