What about the other Cheese Weasels?

1-3 and 3-1.

Good numbers overall.  Don't mind the snark...I'm drinking early. :)

Maurice Jones-Drew over Knowshon Moreneo? Leaning towards going with Mo-Jo, because the Rams are the worst in the league against the run, and Peyton Manning has had trouble in the past against the Cowboys.

Tony Romo over Cam Newton? Leaning towards going with Romo because it will be a shoot out against the Broncos and Arizona gets back their ace linebacker Wifebeater Washington this week, which means Cam ain't running.

Hakeem Nicks over Julian Edelman? Leaning towards Nicks because Philly's defensive backs are terrible and Amendola could cut into Edelman's targets. But they say that the Bengals defensive backs are injured and will have rookies in instead, and rookies against Brady means a lot of long plays for the Patriots. Not to mention that Nicks has hands of stone this year.

dugitman: Primitive Screwhead: Here's my conundrum.
Solid Stafford vs GB
Or
"I know he's on a hot streak but I've been down this road before and all I got was a sore a-hole" Rivers vs Oak

Play Stafford every week and don't even blink. Personally I think he's a mediocre NFL QB, but he is fantasy gold*.

*ymmv based on point systems

Thanks for the sanity check.
He's 20+ points every week in my league.
I'm gonna stick with him but ya gotta admit Rivers vs Oak is a tempting matchup.

Megatron is officially out of Today's game.

elguerodiablo: Kome: Need to pick 2 of the following RBs:

Ray Rice vs Dolphins
LeGarrette Blount vs Bengals
Bilal Powell vs Falcons
Andre Ellington vs Panthers

Leaning towards Rice and Blount, but Powell is a good option as well.

Rice is awesome but he's getting so few touches.  Blount will get work with the other Patsy RBs banged up and Powells been quietly having a really good season.   The experts like Rice and Powell but i like Blount to get a couple short TDs.  I'd go Blount and Powell.

Yeah but Harbaugh's getting pissed about Rice's lack of work. I'd expect a lot of touches today, although I can't promise he'll do anything with them...

Mr. Coffee Nerves: Is Amendola going to play? I mean, I know at some point during this game he'll blow out his hammy or his clavicle or or his duodenum or he'll be shocked into a terror-coma at the sight of a cricket under the bench and miss the next nine Olympics, but is he going to start or do I put in Hartline (sucks, but healthy) or Shorts (didn't practice, is a Jaguar)?

The Bengals are down 2 DBs. Start him.

Been offered a trade in an 8 team 1 point per reception league:

I give up: Reggie Bush

I get: Darren Sproles & Eric Decker

My other RBs:
Doug Martin
Stephen Jackson
Lamar Miller
Danny Woodhead

My other WRs
A.J. Green
Michael Floyd
Pierre Garcon
T.Y. Hilton
Cecil Shorts
Vincent Jackson

Really not sure about downgrading from Reggie Bush to Sproles in a PPR, but like the idea of starting Decker & Green at WR.

So farkers, yay or nay?

I Have The Touch of a Shocked Monkey: For my flex spot, I get to choose between Eddie Royal, Torrey Smith, Sidney Rice, and David Wilson. Leaning toward Royal at the moment.

Also, in a different league, someone offered to trade me Greg Olsen and Rashard Mendenhall for my CJ Spiller and Brandon Myers. Trade still valid 'til Tuesday, do I bite? My gut says CJ will break out eventually, but I can't settle for 2 points/game from my TE and the best TE on my waiver wire is that Graham guy from the Texans.

Flex Wilson for upside, Smith for safety.  Royal seems to be a paper tiger.

Don't trade for Mendenhall, he may not be able to hold the job.  How can there be no TE's on your waiver wire?  I cut Myers for Cook since Myers will be needed to help block with the Giant OL woes.

Don't take the deal. Mendenhall appears like he's about to lose the starting job to Andre Ellington.

MJD couldn't get it done against the Colts' also-terrible run defense (Gore was shredding them until the 49ers decided they didn't need to run the ball in the 2nd half) - I own MJD but I'm still starting Gore, Rice, and David Wilson over him, and I'd start Brandon Bolden ahead of him too. Until MJD proves he can do *something* he's riding the bench for me.

Not saying he *won't* get it done today, but this isn't the first time he's faced a bad run defense. Plus the Rams have had 10 days off to recover and they'll be focusing on the run after the past two games. MJD will be the focus of their defensive gameplan.

Arian Foster has been rather lackluster so far; would it be silly to give Wilson the start, vs. an anemic PHI D, over Foster v. SF?

Yea.  Bush may be better then Sproles but in a PPR it will be minimized and Decker will slot in at 3 in your WR rankings.  Green, Garcon, Decker, Jackson, Hilton ,Shorts, Floyd

Thanks for the advice. Charles Clay is also available but I don't trust the Dolphin offense to hold up for much longer. Brent Celek and Jermaine Gresham are also possibilities, but I don't see them as upgrades over Myers. I'm giving him one more week, and then I'll try out Celek, I think.

I would nix it.  Bush is having a huge year.  Decker always torments me when I have him.  You know he's going off for either 20 a couple times and he'll put up 2 a couple times.  With all the weapons the Bronco's have Decker is just too inconsistent.  Plus he has a horrible habit of falling down and dropping the ball when he breaks free for a possible long score.  I just can't trust a guy like that.

I have two flex spots and five players to choose from: Nate Washington, Danny Woodhead, Greg Olsen, Montee Ball and Stephen Hill.  I'm leaning towards Woodhead and Olsen.  Any advice?

I'd go Olsen and Woodhead too but both Washington and Hill are intriguing .  Ball rides the pine until he becomes to leader of that committee.  (Which is looking less and less likely)

I get not fully trusting Clay, but if the alternative is to essentially trade Spiller for Olsen (since I don't think Myers or Mendenhall will be useful moving forward)...     roll the dice with Clay. He's not an elite guy but I think he can at least maintain what he's been doing (40-50 yards, might get a TD). Better than what you're getting with a lot of TEs right now.

Now that Megatron is out today, should I scramble to find a replacement for Stafford? I don't keep a backup QB on my bench. Russ Wilson is available.

Also, I have Bush AND Joique Bell. Is this a week to start them both now that Megatron is out? I don't really have a place in the lineup for Bell since I have Sproles and Demarco Murray going.

2013-10-06 12:10:51 PM
Oh good. Megatron out after waiver wire closed. Here's my choices for the flex position(ppr)

1. Owen Daniels
2. Brandon Bolden
3. Keenan Allen

Actually considering Allen. Daniels normally, but the 49ers effectively hate opposing TEs.  Bolden may catch some balls against Cincy though. Don't really have any good choices here do I?

Go Allen, Rivers seems to like throwing to him.  Its not a great choice but is the best of bad options.

I dont like Murray that much vs Denver.  He'll get 5 carries before they have to throw everydown to try to catch up.  Really close call between Joique Smurf and Demarco.  I'd go Joique too.

I mean...he is going to take a pretty big hit for sure. But he'll still have to throw against GB. Whether or not someone is there to catch the balls is another story.

I sure appreciate your reply. I have double checked the stats and I see the Rams are not that bad against the run, they just got down in both their games and the Cowboys and the 49ers ran almost every play in the 2nd half against them. The Jags ain't doing that to them. And I believe that you are right, the Rams will not have to defend against Gabbert at all, even with Blackmon coming back.

Thompkins since Smith gets Peterson.

My predicament seems easy, until you really think about it.

Starting QB: Romo or Rodgers?

I know Rodgers seems like the obvious start, but Romo's fantasy season has been awesome, and he'll probably be throwing from behind after the 1st quarter, racking up yards. And Denver's Defense is about par.

Rodgers is going against a better than decent Detroit defense and a bye week, but had trouble with the Bengals defense.

Advice??

Thats a really tough one.  Neck and Neck.  I love Steve Smith but he's going to be wearing a Patrick Peterson suit today so I'd go Thompkins by just a little.
