Xcott: Glockenspiel Hero: And nothing alike? Really? Rounded rectangle, minimal front hard buttons, capacitive touchscreen? Apple's sued other companies over far less.

I'd just like to point out that for all the controversy of who stole from whom and who invented what over the years, rounded rectangles are very clearly a UI innovation introduced by Apple back when drawing rounded rectangles was still hard.  It was even pushed personally by Steve Jobs.

This was also true of the product cases:  Jobs insisted on rounded rectangles in cases, and complained about the low curve radii of the MacIntosh case prototype.

Besides that, rounded flat rectangles were fairly common in wireless phones before the iPhone or this Prada thing, so it's a really tough sell to say that designer A stole it from designer B.

It's hard to tell if you're serious.

Obviously I'm lying.  I always back up my lies with citations.

My dad passed away on the same day as Steve Jobs. So every year for the next God-knows-how-many years, I'm going to be (metaphorically) smacked upside the head with reminders like this.

I went to see Gravity over the weekend, and one of the pre-show ads in the theater was for the upcoming Macbook Pro release.

I know the feeling.  My Dad happened to check out the same time as Princess Diana.  Sorry for your loss but the public moves on and quits reminding you about it pretty quickly.  Give it another couple of years and they won't be saying Jobs in the same breath as Apple anymore.

Cheap plastic that I've heard doesn't always even fit together seamlessly, versus aluminum and glass?
Screen size is debatable. I have an iPad for reading and browsing.
Tethering is built into the OS.
Flash is dead.

//Alls I'm sayin.
