(The New York Times)   Having launched lawsuits against Bud Selig and Major League Baseball, A-Rod now goes 3 for 3 with his suit against the players union. Fans ponder if he'll be suing 1000% when he faces the Yankees   (nytimes.com) divider line 35

Alex Rodriguez is an unmitigated cockholster.  Back in 2009, I defended his sorry ass against all the haters and critics, and was overjoyed when he was extremely instrumental in us winning the World Series that year.  That said, fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.  I won't get snookered like that again.  He can go fark himself.  Whether the Yankees go 162-0 next season or 0-162, I hope they do it without him.

It's October, and A-Rod is 3-3?

I'm genuinely surprised.

My question is why does a person with a billion dollars need defending from you in the first place?

Whether or not an idea is true does not depend on the new worth of the people arguing over it.

When the topic of the argument is an entertainer who wouldn't have any money at all if it weren't for people talking about him and paying to watching him being entertaining, then the opinions of people who don't have lots of money matter even more.

I think you miss the point of being a fan, whether it's of a player or a whole team.  When people talk shiat about that person or that team, you as a fan defend your choice to root for them.  Same could be said for people who like a certain musician or TV show or actor or movie.  It doesn't matter how much money they've got compared to you.

You said what I was going to say.  To expound a little: the MLBPA has farked him over.  Yeah, he's a cheater.  There's no doubt about it; however, there's a clear punishment for his cheating - 100 game suspension (as he's a 2nd time offender).  That the got more than double that and the union hasn't been trustworthy in defending him against that excess shows that he's right, the union isn't doing its job.

/Going to have a beer, take a bath, and wash away the shame of defending the cheater.

By the end, this is going to look like one of those bored prison inmates who sues Obama, Bush 41, Bush 43, Jimmy Carter, the CIA, the IRS, George Soros, Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner, the Freemasons, Unilever, Monsanto, Bank of America, Activision, the Chicago Blackhawks, Denver International Airport, the US Geological Survey, Summer Glau, Batman and God for 'placing obstacles in his path and ensuring his downfall' and demands that they resurrect the 14 people he totally didn't kill.

I don't defend obvious dickbags.  Case in point, people talked shiat on Milton Bradley for retaliating on fans after they tossed a beer bottle at him.  As a fan of Dodgers and Milton Bradley, he deserved to be suspended for stooping to their level and attacking the fans.  I don't defend idiots and cheaters.  You do.  Blindly.  That's your problem, and it's pretty goddamn stupid.

Oh, go blow it out your dittybag.  I don't blindly defend anyone.  Part of the reason I told all those idiots back then to shut up was I didn't give a damn (and still don't give a damn) if players use steroids or not.  If you want to kill yourself to hit a home run, that's your problem.  I think more players are cheating than we know about, even players you wouldn't suspect of doing so.  Getting self-righteous and acting like they're ruining the purity of the game....what a load of bollocks.  I don't want A-Rod off the team because he's used steroids again, I want him off the team because he's an absolute drama queen, an asshole, and not worth the money he's being paid.  Whether he's shot up with HGH or not doesn't factor into it.  I'm over his bullshiat.  Back then, it was tolerable because we needed him.  Now, we have too many other problems/holes to fill to be worrying about his incessant need to be the center of attention.

I certainly didn't act like he did nothing wrong the first time, I just didn't think it was worth it to get all uppity over it.  I still don't, but that's not why I want his ass gone now.

AtlanticCoast63: ,,,Who's he taking legal advice from, Lance Armstrong?

Considering Lance made a majority of fortunes from sponsorships, I can at least understand in part why he was such a dickbag.

Unless I'm missing something, if A-Rod just slinks out a back door and just spends the rest of his days quietly sailing the world or hanging out with prostitutes in Pattaya, or whatever the hell he can easily afford to do, most of the money he's already made should be otherwise safe. I seriously don't get why he's even fighting.

If most of the Western world hated my guts, but I had a serious bankroll behind me, I'll gladly say "ok, you're right, I'm an asshole" and just peacefully duck out of the limelight and live a nice comfortable life somewhere.

He has already lashed out at the league and his team, and now he is lashing out against the MLBPA.  That is the last remaining group he belonged to that enforces rules to make the game civil.  I predict a lot of high-inside fastballs in his future.

Or, maybe the MLB can get creative.
Remove his suspension and announce that any team that dresses him for a game will forfeit that game.  The Yankees can field him, he can still draw tickets and receive his paycheck, but the game will count as a loss.  Include that the opponent would still have to win the game to get credit for a win.  (To prevent the whole thing from turning into a circus.)
It's not like they were going to make the playoffs, anyways.

2013-10-06 10:17:35 AM
I would be totally unsurprised if he was able to demonstrate collusion with that 211-game suspension. No matter what comes out of the lawsuits, he's not going to make himself look good, but when you're that far down in the mud why not start sharing it?

Mostly I want to wait a few years and then see what the Movie Of The Week takes on this are. So many bad guys! It could be delicious.

Yeah I mean, A-Rod's gonna get blacklisted now (not that's going to matter considering his age).  HoF?  Fuhgeabbouit~!  The worms will be decomposing his corpse before the BBWAA even considers him on the ballot.

Hell, Pete Rose will be in the HoF and alive to make his induction speech  before A-Rod's even gets 10% of the vote.

MLB should counter-sue so that during discovery all of the A-Rod's dirty laundry would be put out there to the public.  Lemme see how long those lawsuits will last afterward.

2013-10-06 12:26:51 PM
I heard that this is a threat where his lawyers would use discovery to get access to MLB's books.  They don't want that and will reduce his suspension.

Isn't this technically his FIRST offense as the other one was "confidential" and shouldn't have come out?

Hate that cockholster
