Timeless beauty and Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry is a bad thing now?

Sci Fi is full of hot chicks who can't act worth a damn. What's the problem subby?

As long as she's not another comic book character...

Handsome B. Wonderful: Timeless beauty and Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry is a bad thing now?

When you chew the scenery more than James Farking Bond, it's seen as a Bad Thing.

I forget who said it in what thread, but someone said Halle Berry doesn't answer a phone with 'Hello.' She answers it with 'I'LL TAKE THE PART'.

FTFA   Speaking about the role, Berry said in a statement: "I'm always on the lookout for amazing roles, and when you see material that contains this strong of auspices, nuance and complexity, it compels me to run toward it no matter the medium.

WTF did I just read?

CBS? No, I want this show on cable, with lots of gratuitous nudity.

Is subby upset because she's not white, blonde, hot, 21, with no acting skills?

Spielberg + Halle Berry + scifi = potential good show imo

I'm pretty sure you don't get a green light on this tab without calling the people involved horrible.

Notable exceptions: breaking bad, parks & rec, GoT

She is justifying her move to TV from Movies using adjectives like Mike Tyson and a run on sentence.

HTH

Well, I guess this establishes that subby is a homosexual, not that it's wrong.

You know, Berry is an Oscar winning actress and she does a decent job. Hell, William Shatner played Capt. Kirk and it's not like he has the range of a Shakespearean actor. Sci-Fi doesn't need top notch acting. Just good scripts.

2013-10-05 02:16:12 PM
Has anybody yet expressed that subby's objections are unfounded?

Also, too

Heh, that'll teach me. Good one, I did not know. Though, to be honest I've only seen him in Twilight zone episodes and Star Trek related things. In Star Trek he just seemed like a mediocre actor.

And she's a Brit. From Liverpool. Where The Beatles come from. John Lennon was in The Beatles. He was a commie fascist. Ergo, Halle Berry is shiat.

Meh I don't care for her. She's kinda like the female version of Tom Hanks. Every movie she is in is about her and no one else. Don't get me wrong I liked Die Another Day, it would have been much better with less Halle in it. And the only reason she was in X-men 2 and 3 was because she was getting paid more than most people of the world will get in their life time. She said she wouldn't saign on for X-men 2 unless she made more money and was given a bigger part. Whatever!

/not gay. Loves women, and really loves women loving women....
//just don't care for Halle Berry, would prefer Oliva Wilde, Sandra Bullock, and Zoe Saldana.

And all y'all talking about The Shat: at least Halle Berry hasn't screwed up Star Trek with her crap. Whew! Hope I don't just jinx myself and have her in the 3rd installment of the updated Trek movie.

2013-10-05 03:19:37 PM
This is going to stink more than shiat on toast.  Steve plus SciFi plus TV will always end up with the prevailing theme of why don't you love me parental unit from an angsty tween.   Given that this is about a returns astronaut reconnecting with family the annoying b plot will be the lead plot.

2013-10-05 03:28:25 PM
Overrated crazy-ho needs to go to Lifetime where she belongs.

She was the only good part of the movie Swordfish.

/Why yes, I have the DVD, and the Bluray, and the animated gifs, and the YouTube clips and the.....
//Don't judge me.

Extant has been described as a futuristic thriller about a female astronaut trying to reconnect with her family when she returns after a year in outer space.

Steven Spielberg wouldn't know good Science Fiction if it bit him on the ass. Don't get me wrong, he is (or has-been) a good story teller, but this story could be about a mom who just got out of prison, or just got home from an extended tour of duty in Afghanistan, etc.. And I wonder how well Berry will handle playing an intelligent, vulnerable woman; she's always played a cocksure strutting maniac in all her other roles.

No, she played a stripper in the Last Boyscout.

Jonathan Pryce is a good actor.  I've liked him in lots of stuff.  He should have been able to ham it up with the best of the Bond villains.

But somehow he just looked stupid and pathetic.  Like he was playing in a 3rd-rate Bond knockoff.

Pryce was in Tomorrow Never Dies. Also a good Bond flick. I liked the media mogul takes over the world logic.

Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist..... Not so much. Liked Robert Carlise, but there rest of the world is not enough was just super predictable.

Gah, that's how un-memorable those two movies were...
Yeah, the media mogul premise was perfect.  And Pryce can really chew the scenery if he wants to - he has stage training.  But he just came off as greedy, not evil.

So we all agree that Halle is pretty and we like it that we like it when she takes her clothes off but she is a diva, pure and simple. It's the Jennifer Lopez Syndrome, only with a questionable Oscar, and three established fandom timelines ruined and needing reboots.

There's nothing questionable about that Oscar.  Monster's Ball was brilliant film, and she was brilliant in it.

And also, tits.

I'm sorry, but CBS is shiat. They somehow took Greg Garcia, Will Arnett, Margo Matindale, Beau Bridges, and turned it into absolute awful garbage. Look at those names, and just assume that their new show is the Bizzaro universe version of that show. It's unbelievable how CBS managed to do that.

So this show will be utter dreck. They even fark up football/basketball by cramming even more commercials in it than NBC, ESPN or Fox.

I may receive a lot of hate for this, but I recently caught a lot of episodes of Animaniacs recently, thanks to the kids, and... It holds up.. Meh. Not badly, but not well either. But it's way too damn self aware. We get it, you know you're a damn drawing. There ARE other jokes, you know.

She was heartbreakingly amazing in that movie.

I think most of the hate stems from the Catwoman debacle. Jesus, she didn't write it or direct it. She was just in it. Let it go people.
