Norfolking Chance: Princip's Sandwich: How's the Chelsea game? Did Jose revert to his game-killing form?

The tactics are much like the CL games. One striker up front with the ball hoofed up to him and midfeild packed to kill the game.

Plus the ref is in Blue

Its like Jose doesn't know what to do without a monster striker like Drogba up front to target with the long balls.

On the plus side, Jose's game-killing tactics are giving me a perfect. On the minus side, Swans is losing steam.

Can't stand John Terry, but he's been really solid

Without Hoolahan we just don't seem to have that spark in midfield.

I suggest you look at Chelsea's manager.

They wanted to give one up before getting a 2nd because they wanted me to get a perfect

Premier newbie here. Been hooked since it started airing on NBCSN.
Question, how would you all rank the MLS compared to Premier League?

Premier>MLS

NFL>College?
NFL>Canadian?

Wow. Bizarre series of events. First, bullshiat corner kick call. Then Southampton scores, but it's disallowed for a phantom foul. What the hell just happened?

Depends what the ranking criteria are. Moneywise it isn't close, but then the EPL hulk-smashes impoverished leagues like Spain and Italy.

I think the MLS could make a claim to parity with the SPL, and I'm not being sarky. Certainly it has a brighter future than the SPL.

'Quality' wise? Perhaps League 1 [third-tier English League].

Quality isn't available artificially. Can't force it or buy it - see Emirates/China. Culture and other support needs to grow organically. The Big Leap Forward will be when supporting dads take their kids. Remember, we've been doing this on a formalised league basis since the Battle of Gettysburg.

1-2 gives me a perfect, but honestly Norwich deserves at least a point from this game

HAZARD!!!

Fark, this is a heart stopper of a match.
Fair play to Norwich, they've been playing their hearts out. Unlucky not to get a point from this.

I'm +140, even though Chelsea's third wrecks my perfect prediction for that game.

I've seen a few Man City fans. I remember ukexpat was one, and so was eagles95. A few more, but names getting at from me this morning.

The real, honest answer is that it's more like baseball where the English Premier League is like the MLB and the MLS is like AAA baseball.  Comparing it to football doesn't make sense because even the worst NFL team is light years better than the best college team.  A AAA baseball team could win a game against an MLB team, but it's quite unlikely.  An NFL team would just paste any college team without much effort.

It's level of talent, and especially technical ability. Passing, control, and shooting quality are all vastly different. There are times when you see brilliance in the MLS, but on the whole there's a noticeable dropoff. Take a look at first touches and it becomes evident quickly.

Do Arsenal fans still want Wenger out?

midpoint: Remember, we've been doing this on a formalised league basis since the Battle of Gettysburg.

I remember watching the first season of Downton Abbey ('cuz I'm classy like that) and thinking "they're going to London? They could stop by White Hart Lane and watch Spurs". For some reason, that really cemented just how deep the history of English footy goes.

Chelsea result perfect and insurance on the Southampton game means I'm on +120 right now.  If spurs win and Arsenal win I may have my highest point total ever!

I've got a lot of the games correct, but have missed on the score on each one.  Right now I think I've got 65, but a goal here and there and I could've been in the triple digits.  Oh well, still have Tottenham and Arsenal to count on.

Can't blame them after the punchless Villa game. I'd have reacted in a similar fashion.

I don't think I ever called for his head, but after a long summer with a huge kitty and only two free transfers to show for it, and after an embarrassing season opener to Aston Villa, I was really frustrated. I think a lot of us agreed that Wenger is a great coach, but not great at player acquisitions/transfers. I still believe that, btw, despite Arsenal's current great form.

Completely agree, though the MLS is improving every year, so this won't be true forever.

As much as I love watching Gibbs attack, that would have been a very easy tap-in if he had just crossed. Damn.

If the MLS is smart (and they do seem to be, to their credit), they'll work with teams to create the kind of youth academies that identify and develop youth talent very early. The US has the raw talent, it just needs to be honed sooner.

They need the kind of structure Spain's got regarding youth, with academies set up so that kids can go through all the categories with the club. Say what you will about Spain's ridiculous imparity, youth talent is great across the board.

They have this, though the academies are fraught with funding issues. And they have rules protecting club investments in youth players (right of first refusal, i think), which sometimes screw the players over.
