Nani annoys me. When he gets the ball, the entire attack grinds to a halt while he does a bunch of stepovers in front of a defender who waits patiently for him to actually move. At some point he has to realize he isn't Ronaldo.

And then, of course, he will do something unexpected that creates just enough expectation to keep him in the lineup.

desertgeek: Princip's Sandwich: This is one of those times when I can't check FFPL and wonder whether I was stupid enough to bank on MU once again.

I think MU is the new Arsenal- bank on them at your own risk.

I can't help but think that at some point, they're due to paste some unwitting team with 5 or 6 goals. Every week I think it'll be the team they're facing. Then they come out and play like this. It's baffling.

In all fairness to United, though, Sunderland is defending exceptionally well so far.

Who will be last person sent packing from United: Zaha, Kagawa, or Moyes?

Man United deflects another bullet

Is it fair to say that Moyes should get less blame and Fergie more credit? It's pretty clear Fergie knew how to get the most out of shiat players and that the current players are shiat

Langston: In all fairness to United, though, Sunderland is defending exceptionally well so far.

At this stage, every team on United's schedule might be getting a little extra pumped for the game. It's not 'well, we're going to give up three points here, oh well' like it typically is for the lower-level clubs. Right now it's 'they're weak, quick, hit them with all we've got before they figure out whatever it is that's wrong with them'.

It's a downward spiral for United. Every small-club loss is going to invite more questions, which makes them play more desperately and sloppily. There's no excuse for the clownshoes goal that their defense conceded this match.

MNMarkPW: Who will be last person sent packing from United: Zaha, Kagawa, or Moyes?

I think you have them in order.

In any just world, Anderson, Nani, Evra, Fletcher, Giggs, and possibly even Cleverly would be out ahead of them. Variously over-rated, under-performing, or just too old.

2013-10-05 01:12:43 PM
The running total of money taken out by the Glazers is roughly £500m to date I understand.

2013-10-05 01:13:04 PM
Has a team ever won the league one year and been relegated the next? I'm not counting the Rangers who were paying a penalty.

Just asking questions.

I immediately felt bad for not including Evra when I hit add comment.

Every year, I wonder if Anderson still plays, only to find out he's still on United's roster. What do they see in him?

"Will go" and "should go" are very different lists. I don't know who Evra has photos of, but I suspect he will outlast all of us.

Lord Jubjub: Who would have thunk that Sunderland would lead at the half?

I really hope United turn this around, I don't want to lose 30 on them two weeks in a row.

2013-10-05 01:21:35 PM
My halftime changes: Nani and Cleverly off, Kagawa and Valencia on.

I really hoping Utd are going to be busy this January...

Princip's Sandwich: Every year, I wonder if Anderson still plays, only to find out he's still on United's roster. What do they see in him?

Beats me. Originally he was touted as "the new Nani", but instead Nani has turned into the old Anderson.

On the road to Columbus this weekend to watch a Crew game, so I'm stuck with online updates.
So far doing ok (positive points) but a banker on United may screw me..again.

If that's the case, it's technically true. Anderson is indeed the same as Nani now.

And I love it. I love it when big super megaclubs get dragged into honest-to-God relegation fights. Every so often one of them actually drops (hi, River Plate),

Play slower! Cross it more!

You know, I'm sitting here in my pub watching my banker once again go down in flames, and I've got a smile on my face.

I guess this is the upside of a Liverpool supporter putting his banker on a Man U win.

2013-10-05 01:38:14 PM
Don't start cheating, Adnan.

2013-10-05 01:45:26 PM
They got one. They want their three points, they still need another, and Sunderland isn't going to just let them have it.

2013-10-05 01:49:54 PM
And there it is with some old-fashioned 'here it comes, meat, see if you can catch it'. Moyes with a gigantic sigh of relief.

2013-10-05 01:50:10 PM
Okay. One more United goal for a perfect or Sunderland can come back and grab an equalizer. Either way I win.

It was a good 50 minutes while it lasted though

2013-10-05 01:52:27 PM
Okay United, you can stop your comeback now. I could really use a perfect.

2013-10-05 01:53:23 PM
That's more like it.

I've had the same feeling putting a banker on Tottenham.

Don't Pogba this lad too, United.

/or do, that works for me

I gotta say, Sunderland pulling their goalie in attack just makes me smile. You go on with your bad selves, Sunderland.

2013-10-05 02:24:03 PM
They got the win, but they managed to turn what should have been routine business against Sunderland into an absolute adventure. That's not exactly heartening.

2013-10-05 02:25:42 PM
Perfect banker! Huzzah!

2013-10-05 02:26:46 PM
Well that RvP miss cost me 15 points, but I'll take +80 on the day.

2013-10-05 02:32:56 PM
Whoa, +120 for the day if I'm counting it right.

2013-10-05 02:42:44 PM
I said last season that Man Utd wasn't has good as their record showed. They just didn't look good, but they still looked better than the other EPL teams.

Now, with essentially the same team but a different manager; they look worse. To me, these first few games of the "post-Fergie" era says a lot more about SAF than anything else. He was able to make his players better and could hide defects in the team. Moyes doesn't have that ability. He's a fine manager, but he can't make players better just by his presence.

FFPL scores up.

Blazed my way into Page 1 with that one, at least for now. Good stuff.

I did not do well this week.

It has been a bit wonky mid update. Seems fine now.
