Paris Hilton's 2013 return to music moves her work into the tried but true framework of other party pop divas such as Ke$ha and Miley Cyrus. Her new song "Good Time" evokes the hedonistic sensations of contemporary night life via an underlying trance beat with electronic vocals. She astutely observes that, yes she's a bit tipsy, perhaps even blackout drunk, and prepared to engage in cheap coitus, but she's having a good time because she's with good company.

This prompts her to ask, are you having a good time? Although the question is more rhetorical in nature, what she is really asking is do you feel the shared connection while we grind on the dance floor in an ecstasy fueled display of simulated sex. The question goes deeper and is indicative of a society that is bored and now culturally bankrupt, but asking are you having a good time, even though there is nothing substantial left, and all that remains to be enjoyed from a falling Rome are tawdry exploits resonating from the most base instincts, yet still there is a good time to be had.

Such explorative questions that are simple, but multidimensional shows real growth in her work and is something we'll be asking for quite some time.

I didn't think the song could get any worse, but then Lil Wayne started singing.

Not having listened to Lil Wayne before, I pose this question:

Am I living in "Idiocracy" or is there a more complex reason for why Lil Wayne has fans?

I'd still wreck it like Princess Diana's limo.
