This isn't working. All I eat is pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin spice muffins, pumpkin pie, and those little marshmallow candy pumpkins and I'm doing nothing but gaining.

Dawn, 47, says: "Before I'd think nothing of eating a whole cooked chicken with a loaf of bread smothered in butter in one sitting. And even after that I would empty the cupboards of chocolate, crisps and cakes until I was satisfied. Then within a few hours I would start again.

...

At nine months, she weighed nearly 3st.

That's a lot more than just being unwilling to pass up second helpings. That looks like there are genetic and neurological factors in the mix.

My guess is that she set them down to pick up a pumpkin.

But while Dawn has already dropped to 17st, she has one problem - her husband doesn't want her to get much thinner.

"Chris likes me big and doesn't want me to get skinny. He is happy if I lose another three or four stone but definitely no more than that," Dawn says. "I don't want Chris to leave me, so I won't go under 13st."

And Chris, 46, a security guard, confirms that, while he is happy Dawn has slimmed down, he doesn't want her to go too far. He says: "I like women with a bit of meat on them. I don't want Dawn to get too skinny. I'm not attracted to thin women."

If your husband or wife openly states that they'll leave you for improving yourself and getting healthy, s/he is a piece of shiat and you should get rid of them. You're married, not dating and looking for attraction.

On a related note, if they say they'll leave you for the opposite (if you get fatter), that's not exactly a way of showing love for you. Unconditional love, biatches; how's it work?

She should be a lot more orange toned in her skin if that is all she eats.

So she's down to 238 pounds which means shehas another 120 pounds to go. Does she eat squash through a picket fence?

I'm guessing the husband is probably heavy himself and believes if his wife loses enough weight, she'll no longer find him attractive and will leave him for another guy. So he tries to maintain some sense of control by saying he doesn't find thin women appealing (which makes him appear noble) and keeps his wife emotionally dependent on him by telling her she shouldn't lose too much weight.

Looking to love yourself by way of trying to convince some else to love you doesn't work. Eventually, the other person gets tired of doing all the work and questions their feelings. If you don't love yourself, no one else will.

You get used to the portion size?
If you have never been involved with an overweight person you tend not to focus on overweight people's attractive features. However once it happens, it opens up a new range of possibilities.

I'm not talking about morbidly obese for the record.

As for not liking them to get skinny is because a lot of people who go from overweight to skinny do it by only cutting down the calories and lose a lot of muscular mass, and therefore, lose a lot of curvature which looks pleasant on both sexes.

No, as per the article, the husband is "skinny", 10 stone or 140 lbs. He just has a thing for very obese women.

Oh and the woman clearly eats lots of pumpkin. But it's not the only thing she eats. It's part of a very healthy diet. The exact opposite of what she had been eating when she was morbidly obese. She's also exercising regularly. She's a poster child of what you need to do to avoid getting gastric bypass surgery to save your life.  Pumpkin is a great thing to be "addicted" to however.  Low in calories, filling, and super nutritious. Jammed pack with beta carotene
