Well, they eventually built something somewhat similar with the early 2000s Ford GT, just going retro instead of futuristic and with a blown V8 instead of the V12.

As for the FoMoCo concept that really should have been built:

files.conceptcarz.com

preview.netcarshow.com

Big, RWD, V8 up front, frameless doors with rear suicides, roomy, classically good looking, this is the car that could have allowed Lincoln to jump ahead of Cadillac's resurgence.  It would have been the epitome of an American luxury car, but instead they decided to keep the Town Car on life support and start building new Lincolns as rebadged FWD Fords.  Only now is Lincoln really starting to get out of that rut and make some really desirable cars again.

I'd need a driver side bump to fit my head. Srsly, I took the drivers seat out of an MG and drove from the back seat, looking over the windshield.

I loved the GT90 when I was a kid. At the time when it came out my mom had just bought a 1994 Cobra. I remember thinking how fast the Cobra was when I was 12, and how amazingly fast the GT90 would be.

Fast forward 12 years and I was working at a shop tuning Ford GTs to over 900hp.

I credit the GT90 with all of it.

Really?  It looks like someone railed enough coke to explode a horse, watched 2001 and the video for Take On Me and then slapped a car together out of an ipod and a really fancy dishwasher.

The concept vehicle that wound up becoming the Alfa Romeo Montreal.  Two of these were created for an exhibit at Expo '67 in Montreal ... unnamed.  People started referring to it as The Montreal during the exposition.  When Alfa Romeo decided to put it into production in 1970, they opted to call it the Montreal.  The actual production models didn't wind up on the market until 1971.  Only a little over 3900 were manufactured, and they were never sold in North America.  If I won the lottery, I'd buy myself one of the production models - they look a bit different from this though.

Really cool car. Too many post-modern design cues, like the triangle brake lights and pretty much the entire interior. But otherwise not very dated considering it's nearly 2 decades old.

The Oldsmobile Aerotech stands out in my mind because my friends and I used to race cars on a Hot Wheels drag strip, and the Matchbox Aerotech was the fastest car I ever found for that. If it stayed on the track, it won.

By the time it went into production, it had become the Lamborghini Espada, as it turns out that the Marzal was even a bit too radical for Ferruccio Lamborghini's liking.
