Officers confirmed that a 1-year-old baby was taken from the car and is now in good condition.
David Loewenberg, who witnessed the incident, said he saw an officer "hugging a child and taking that child away."

So I forget how it works. Does that make the kid grow up to be a super hero or a super villain?

Haven't been following - she was just running from a random accident due to a suspended license, right?

She did however have a nexus to the afterlife.

sad when you can't drive around drunk with your kid in the car smashing into shiat without getting killed like a common terrorist

what happened to freeeeeeedom?

2013-10-03 08:42:54 PM
No, the Terrorists were inside the Capitol.

No, she was running from a shiatton of Capital Police who were firing guns at her.

Villain. Now had some ruffian killed his mom because he/she lost their job due to the shutdown, then he could have become Batman.

The kid is the mastermind.  All part of a plan to get him into the police station.

So she was just an ORDINARY crazy drunk with a baby in the car trying to smash her way through the White House gate and running from cops ordering her to stop? That means we can still feel sorry for her and excoriate the cops for their overreach, and not praise them for taking down a crazed gunman/terrorist trying to kill the President?

No Texas either. Connecticut.

I'm wondering if the cops overreacted in this.  I don't have enough information (yet) to commend or condemn.

DC cops really need to lighten up when someone breaks a gate around the President. Come on guys, it's not life or death here.

From this article:

The woman driving the car was unarmed, law enforcement sources said. All the shots in the incident, which began about 2:14 p.m., were fired by police trying to stop her. Police fired at the car in at least two locations, as the car drove across Washington, and around the Capitol area.

It's not like Obama is ever there, anyway.  Now if this had happened at a golf course, then yeah, go full SWAT attack mode.

Since I have recently been playing GTA 5 I immediately thought about the many police "executions" which end after a traffic mishap.    Its only fiction, but it did seem similar.

He was in the White House when the woman tried to breach the barricade.

President's not the president anyway, you know that!

I'm usually one defending the cops, but this is just weird.  Not nearly enough information, but sounds like there was maybe some poor communication among the different agencies involved.  Like if someone reported gunshots, but neglected to mention it wasn't the perp shooting.  In general it's a really stupid idea not to stop for cops because the potential for escalation always exists.  I'm just guessing, I'll shut up and wait for the followup.

2013-10-03 08:58:38 PM
No, but she had a axis.
Right before the cop shot her to death in front of her baby daughter.

2013-10-03 08:59:00 PM
So wait, does this mean some of the cops will get PAID leave? I think I've figured it out.

2013-10-03 08:59:10 PM
I can't help but wonder if she just got distracted, bumped into the barricade, then panicked and drove off as armed men began to swarm... with disastrous consequences.

But yes, far too few details at this point to know.

This was a cute talking point when Pelosi was Speaker. Now it's like a Ted Kennedy reference in terms of living in the past.

Beer cap: This is a very strange one. She was an attractive woman with a small child and a good career. I really wouldn't be surprised to hear this had something to do with Obamacare or the shutdown.

Normally I'd guess this was just a dramatic suicide-by-cop, but with a one year old in the car? WTF?

She died doing what she loved.

Hate like hell to post this but?
I can feel sorry for  her child - and, as details come out i reserve the right to say the cops may have overreached in an abundance of caution and they likely will feel like shiat about it.

I've seen nothing about her being drunk, nor confirmation of her intent.

Someone's mother died today - do you have to slop with a "fault" brush just yet?

In the video, it looks like she's driving way to much for simple panic. They had her stopped, she took off and drove in circles as they boxed her in with barricades and cop cars.

With a kid in the car, if it was an accident, I would imagine at the most she would drive away from the guys with guns, stop and get out with her hands up or holding the baby.

I'm going with she was just trying to introduce Obama to his love child.  Obama baby momma drama...
