Five guys burgers are absolutely average and their fries are absolutely disgusting.

There, I said it.

If this was an accident, why was granny screaming "Two patties!" as she slammed into the first two customers?

/I like the fries. Mom was a so-so cook.

You need to let the burger steam itself in the foil, so it's best to always do take-out.

It's no In 'N Out, but it's miles ahead of any other chain you're passing on the way home from work.

2013-10-03 09:52:16 PM
I like them. I especially like them with bacon, grilled onions, and A1 sauce.

2013-10-03 09:52:28 PM
:'( no In-n-Out or Five Guys here. And now I'm hungry.

2013-10-03 09:52:41 PM
The thing with five guys is, you get to pick out all the toppings that you want. You don't just go and order a cheeseburger. That might make for some communication issues.

FTFA: Conver said she thought she had the car in park when it was actually in drive.

If you thought the car was in park, why was your foot on the gas pedal?

2013-10-03 09:54:48 PM
This is a bad idea.   After eating the fries while driving, the driver will end up with food coma, causing a large number of accidents.

Coma fries...

2013-10-03 09:55:09 PM
Their burgers are pretty much like Steak and Shake but their fries are the best.when they're well done.

2013-10-03 09:55:23 PM
I got the runs just thinking about it...definitely not recommending that drive through as a pit stop on a long ride!

Depends on who's making them - they cook them there; some of their cooks are good, some aren't. I've greasy nasty fries there, I've had sublime wonderful fries there.

2013-10-03 09:56:19 PM
So, they're expanding their blandness?

/put all the toppings you want on it - still blandburger

2013-10-03 09:59:21 PM
I actually like them.
Sorry.

*cries* there are no 5 Guys in SD. And I didn't realize there were some in the Cleveland area until I moved.

Maybe it's because they don't have drive thrus, but several of the ones near me have terrible locations, embedded on the outskirts of enormous Target-ish strip malls, next to the Health Food store or Cell phone store.

So while In N Out is busy all day long, the 5 guyses are often empty.

They are also a bit overpriced and suffer from too much food for someone looking for lunch and not looking to become a sumo wrestler. That is, no way can I order their fries with a burger. Maybe they truly are not looking for the individual diner but for groups of people.

Funny though this posted to Business, I suspect the modmin is literally "blind" drunk once more.

The 5 Guys nearest me recently closed.  It may not be the best burger place, but it was pretty good. Now there's nothing left in the area but McDonalds and Wendy's.

Also depends on when they last changed the oil.
Or if that fryer keeps catching fire and the owner won't fix it because he's a cheap ass and anyway it's fine if you turn it off for twenty minutes and start it back up.

I've been there once. $9 for greasy fries dripping grease on their greasy burger in a greasy paper bag .

Yeah, no.

I'd eat Five Guys more often if they didn't insist on me wheeling out a shopping cart full of French fries.

I don't care if it is a gimmick.  Get some decent farking ordering sizes.  They're only good hot anyway.

They've priced themselves out of my lunch comfort zone and I won't order their fries because fries and a burger from them, because I perceive that meal of 1300 calories as more than 1/2 my daily calories (as a somewhat older farker)

i.imgur.com

Just for comparison, because maybe I/O is the same

i.imgur.com

So I/O's meal of burger and fries is between 650 and 800 calories compared to 1300 calories.

Yes, I could do as 5 Guys suggests and toss 1/2 the fries away to bring their lunch down to 1010 calories. But I'm ever going to do that.

So mostly, I steer around the 5 guys. I like their product, they are clearly selling to a different American than I.

Went to five guys on a recent trip down south.  Burger ok. Fries nearly burnt.  Bit expensive.  Went back a second time to see if it was any better, but it was the same.  At least at In-n-Out you can eat the cheese off the wax wrapper, nothing can be done about the sucky foil.

/In-n-Out 3x3 and animal fries FTW.

Breakfast is useless. If you only eat two meals a day, that's about right.  Well, eat some steamed veggies afterwards.

The place is in Sinking Spring?

"When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a Five Guys Burgers and Fries on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that's what you're going to get, Lad, the strongest Five Guys Burgers and Fries in all of Sinking Spring. Until some idiot drives a car through the place, but that's a tale for another time."

A Whataburger with cheese  is the only fast food I crave. I think it's the pickles and mustard. Double meat, double cheese
