Rwa2play: bill4935: 2. Don't use Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde, cast her as Jennifer Walters

I honestly don't see that.

How about Felicia Day?  She's proven with The Guild that she could play meek and mousy, and she seems to have the presence to pull off the She-Hulk personality as well.

I'd love to see She-Hulk as a recurring character on the SHIELD TV show.  I'd also be the first one in line for a Captain Marvel movie.

I don't know if She-Hulk would work on TV, simply because there's not a big SFX budget; the She-Hulk CGI would probably look terrible.  Shame, because the character would fit in well.

Didn't they nerf her powers pretty hard for the movies?

Does she even have powers in the movies, aside from "super-spy"?

She had the power to not make The Avengers a sausage fest.

She made my pants tighter.

She also knocked Loki's 'Gotcha' off of Hawkeye.

/Damn I thought Hawkeye was taller in the comics

I can see some of those, She-Hulk, Ms Marvel and Spider-Woman would be the big ones. Marvel has said they have the MCU planned out to 2021, so if the Avengers films are where stuff all comes together and theyre spaced out every 3 years like they have been, Avengers 4 would be right at 2021. Heres a list i put together based on various rumors, some of it is maybe pie in the sky, but i think it would be cool.

Phase 2 Buildup
Iron Man 3 2013
Agents of SHIELD (TV) 2013
Thor 2 2013
Captain America 2 2013
Guardians of the Galaxy 2014
Avengers: Age of Ultron 2015

All of this is already confirmed, setting the stage again, introducing new elements and expanding things from one world to an entire galaxy.

Phase 3 Cosmic and Mystic
Ant-Man 2015
Nova 2015
Dr. Strange 2016
Black Panther 2016
Spider-Woman 2016
Inhumans 2017
Thor 3 2017
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 2017
Avengers 3 (Thanos) 2018

Introducing new characters, setting up Thanos and the cosmic stuff more and more with Nova and another GotG, fleshing out The Avengers roster with some classic members, introducing SWORD and MCU version of the Illuminati (Stark, Strange, Tchalla, Black Bolt)... Hulk saves the day in Avengers 3 of course but at a cost.

Phase 4 Down to Earth
Captain America 3 2018
Heroes for Hire 2018
Ms Marvel 2018
Hulk 2 2019
Runaways 2019
Untitled Courtroom Drama spinoff of Agents of SHIELD featuring Matt Murdock and Jennifer Walters (TV) 2019
Blade 2020
The Punisher 2020
Ghost Rider 2020
Avengers 4 (World War Hulk) 2021

Setting a smaller stage, street level heroes, NOT the guys usually saving the world, maybe some of them have already been introduced in Agents of SHIELD, MAYBE an R rated one or two, something for the older fans and the kids whove been growing up on this series, Carol Danvers for a new heavy hitter to replace Iron Man somewhat, Hulk 2 is Banner losing control more and more, but a more intelligent Hulk emerging, at the end the Illuminati convince Banner to leave the planet (skip Planet Hulk entirely) but then the ship gets hit by a meteor or something, he hulks out and Hulk turns the ship around to go revengenate everybody for shooting him into space.

Phase 5 fark it, weve already made eleventy billion dollars and Disney is paying more attention to Star Wars anyway
Avengers 5: Ok fine Joss, you can do a musical 202?
Pet Avengers, with or without Ms Lion depending if shes tied to the Spider-man license and if they get that back by then...
Great Lakes Avengers
Howard the Duck

Things will get a little weird by then...

She doesn't have any special powers in the comic.  Beside her fighting skills, she used to hang on the walls like Spiderman, but that was due to devices rather than any internal powers.  I don;'t recall seeing her do that in years.

I thought she was given a variation of the Super Soldier Serum?

/IDK, was an X-Guy in the 90's. Rest of comic knowledge is from osmosis.

Mid_mo_mad_man: Mugato: baconbeard: I don't know why they don't make these movies. The box office would be in the tens of thousands of dollars. TENS OF THOUSANDS!!!

You laugh but it's not like they didn't try it. Electra, Catwoman (Halle Berry), Wonder Woman on TV. Nothing. The audience loves superhero chicks as supporting players but not as leads for whatever reason. That's why Black Widow's the only Avenger without her own solo film (besides the bow and arrow guy but he's just lame),

I wouldn't call Hawkeye lame. He's just better as a team member. That's the same issue with pretty much all of Marvel's ladies. If any heroine should get a movie I want to see a X-23 movie

The original purpose of the superteam comic was to showcase heroes that didn't have their own comics. In the early days for the Avengers, it was like that when Scarlet and Quicksilver joined and other than special occasions stayed like that until the Skrull-Kree war storyline.  Since then it's been a mix with the majority of members being characters who didn't have their own series.

Grotesk: bentleypm: I'd watch a  Kitty Pryde and Wolverinemovie starring Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman.  Why not?

/shut up an take my money

But.. Ellen Page...

Or the two girls who played that role before her since that character was in the previous X-men flicks but wasn't named.

She Hulk for the win but only if you get Dan Slott on it.  AND it would be WAY better as a TV show.

Honestly, they can put one (or a two-parter) feat. She-Hulk and then be done with it.  She doesn't have to be a recurring character (or she can be but just as Jennifer Walters).

Hell, do it during Sweeps week.

Actually, if SHIELD had good ratings they could use it as a stepping off point to more Avengers characters or more solo movies. But it would have to have really good ratings and they'd have to make a monetary commitment.

Graphic geeks, for She Hulk would they be better off using makeup or color correction?

I'm no graphic geek, but they can do whatever it is they did for Rachel Nichols in Star Trek, she looked ok as an Orion chick.

Right but we're talking about a character who has to run and fight and interact with other characters. Seems prohibitive with makeup, as fun as applying the make-up would be. But  they'd have to do it between each take.

bill4935: Hey, is it TL;DR day today?

Cool, let me lay a plan for more Marvel superheroines out for you, and then you try to tell me that you wouldn't spend all your money to see it happen just like this:

1. Make an action-comedy Ant-Man movie where it turns out Ant-Man is no hero, he's a dweeb who refuses to leave his lab 'cause he's on a roll creating about seventeen superpowers or android creations in a row. He's in the title and in the origin story and not much else. Ditzy Janet van Dyne volunteers for one of these, finds she likes the ability to fly and zap douchebags with bio-stings, and suddenly gets hardcore into saving lives and general superheroing as the Wasp. Now the movie's all about her. She gets into the media storm ("Is it true you're called the Wasp?" "Ew, no! Gross") reveals her real name, starts marketing her image, even becomes a big success in her first love, fashion design.

She completely drops the bubblehead act, gets serious, and defeats the movie's antagonist and about nine other villains in a row. It's not like she does it without chipping a nail. In fact her arm gets broken halfway through the last big action setpiece. But that doesn't stop her, she just ignores it and starts kicking ass one-handed. Probably some not-too-subtle reminders at that point about women's tolerance to pain compared to men. Big finale: the Big Boss has armor that she can't zap through, so she gets fed up and just grows to about thirty-five feet tall, picks up a dump truck filled with lead bars and drops it on him. Remember, this is the woman who eventually becomes the leader of the Avengers, telling all those alpha male types like Cap and Thor what to do. She has shrinking/growing, flying and zapping powers, but they end up being just a tiny part of The Wasp, mixed in with her leadership skills, battle planning, media savvy, and outright willpower... and we get to see it all start to develop in this movie.

2. Don't use Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde, cast her as Jennifer Wal ...

Have your people call my people, we'll do lunch, I'm seeing a multi-tentpole franchise here.....
