Marcus Aurelius: What happens when the terrorists use pontoon bicycles to invade Manhattan, huh? What then, smart guy? You'll look pretty silly then.
AlwaysRightBoy: Here's a video I found:
Danger Avoid Death: Didn't the Hudson River catch on fire once? Or was that the East River? Don't know if I'd want to go in either one of them.
Atomic Spunk: I've always wondered why if someone wanted a water craft powered by one's legs, there weren't more options. Legs are a lot more powerful than arms, but it seems as though the only self-powered water crafts that can travel at a decent speed are powered by arms. This device is too top heavy and the body position looks like it's tough to handle in crosswinds. I'd like to see a low-profile watercraft where the rider sits in a similar position to a recumbent cyclist.
Danger Avoid Death: You mean like this?
Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: Yet even on the water he still managed to run 3 stop signs
organizmx: To non New York/New Jersey Farkers: spend a week crossing the one bridge or two tunnels across the Hudson (12 million people on one side, nine million on the other) - with the soul crushing traffic or insane, what, $12 tolls, and you'll see why this man is a motherfarking hero./cause all our tax dollars go to red states, not our own infrastructure
RogermcAllen: A low profile leg powered vessel where you sit down and lean back a bit. I think they invented that already.[www.worldrowing.com image 800x561]

CasperImproved: I think paddle boats were created a long time ago and are likely much more stable a ride.
Lady Indica: Does it come with a pole to push away bloated corpses?
AlwaysRightBoy: Where's the guy walking with the pontoons?
mbillips: CasperImproved: I think paddle boats were created a long time ago and are likely much more stable a ride.Paddlewheels are a ridiculously inefficient drive mechanism. If you don't have a submerged propeller, you're going nowhere slowly.
