The Braves early exit last year as opposed to the early exits every year since 1991, with that 1 exception.

If you're going to be correcting people, you should at least be correct yourself.

It's 5 pm EDT (which would actually be 4 pm EST).

We don't switch back to EST until November.

I got $20 on the Pirates winning the whole thing.

Let's do this.

With my team having lost 90 games 3 years in a row, my interest in baseball is at an all time low.

So here's a picture of Bob Uecker with the Bella Twins.

Enjoy ya'lls playoff threads though.

"Hirschbeck's crew is assigned to the Los Angeles Dodgers-Atlanta Braves NLDS and is comprised of Laz Diaz, Marvin Hudson, Bill Miller, regular season crew chief Tim Welke and Hunter Wendelstedt."

Phew, we dodged Sam Holbrook, Angel Hernandez and CB Bucknor - a chance for a good series.

//go Braves

Agreed. That's what I'm rooting for as well.

Uecker was a Cards player for part of his career. He actually was on the 1964 World Series Champion club, where he made his greatest contribution...by being left off the WS roster, so Tim McCarver went Iron Man and won WS MVP.

Wainwright v. Burnett? Man I'm glad Liriano was used up on the play-in game. Also, subby, "red-hot Pirates?" Cards kicked the crap out of everybody for the end of their season, winning their last six and 8 of their last 9. Yeah, it was Brewers, Nats, and Cubs, but still. Pirates went 7 of 9, btw.

BTW, bottom 2nd, no score.

Cardinals take this inning... for good....

I'm glad I can use my DirecTV login on TBS's site and get the game streaming. Though I'd rather have my AM radio station streaming, but no, MLB can't let me listen to Vin Scully, unless I walk the 50 feet out of the office and sit in my car.

Oh, I see. Just grew up listening to him announcing for Brewers games.  I guess I should have known that.

And I associate him with being Mr. Belvedere's comic straight man.

Wooooo! Carlos Beltran!

2013-10-03 06:07:44 PM
Damn you fark... I was listening to the game on ESPN radio with Beltran up, and hit refresh.  I saw the homerun comment before I could revel in the pure joy of hearing it for myself.

2013-10-03 06:08:33 PM
Burnett needs to come out now.

Talk about screwing the Pirates over if they have to go to the bullpen in the third inning of game 1

Is it really time to take him out? Damn...

2013-10-03 06:12:27 PM
They're just now getting someone up in the bullpen. Goddammit, Dusty Hurdle!

I see you are unfamiliar with the joys of AJ Burnett...

usernameguy: Burnett needs to come out now.

No... I'm rooting for my Cards but getting the bullpen working this early in game 1 of the series spells doom for later games.

If Burnett can get out of this inning without too much more damage it will be better for the pirates.

/ Pull him if he gives up 2-3 more runs.  This game is probably over anyway

2013-10-03 06:12:42 PM
It's funny.

AJ on Yankees in regular season: very inconsistent, frequently awful.
AJ on Yankees in postseason: surprisingly effective
AJ on Pirates in regular season: a tad inconsistent, but generally quite good
AJ on Pirates in postseason: surprisingly ineffective.

2013-10-03 06:13:19 PM
Total pitching breakdown.

Walking in runs in the playoffs i no way to win a world series, son.

2013-10-03 06:15:27 PM
Dude cannot throw a strike to save his life. Hahahahahaa
They better stall until the guy in the bullpen is ready.
