Clearly there's a lesson in all this, someone to be blamed, and something to be banned.

Also, my Obama Lovechild Babymama Visit Gone Wrong facetiousness is still in play.  Which is starting to scare me.

Beer cap: So they shot an unarmed woman after she got out of her car and was no longer a threat?

The cops panicked (or wanted to be heroes) because the woman panicked. The ones that shot her were different than the ones at the White House and had little idea of what was going on.

I'm aware of several cases where where cops start chasing a car for a traffic violation and the car doesn't pull over. Other cops see the chase, figure something real bad must be going down and fill the car with lead, injuring or killing everybody inside.

People are expected to know if they panic then the cops may panic and overreact.

How can you say that about a man that paralyzed every law enforcement agency on the west coast?  Paralyzed!  I mean, they needed drool cups for god's sake!  They pissed britches!

Degenz: LoneWolf343: Degenz: LoneWolf343: Do you have grounds to believe what they are saying is false?

Why yes, yes I do. Shall we start with the Rodney King video and other thousands of others that have surfaced afterward showing the police administering street justice?

Or shall we talk about the hundreds of death penalty cases where exonerated defendants proved that the cops and prosecutors lied like douchebags.

You don't have to be a cop hater to question this crap. You just have to have a brain. I sure with the pussies who call the media liberal would realize that.

Yeah, that doesn't count in this case, dumbass.

And you are so sure of the why, exactly, farktard?

It's called assuming facts not in evidence. Provide the evidence, or STFU.

Sergeant Grumbles: Amos Quito: The reference to Dorner was NOT "an example of the power of the second amendment", it was to illustrate the gaping FLAW in the argument of Gun-Grabby idiots who LOVE to say "Derp! You can't fight the gubbermint! DERP!"

What the hell else do you call illustrating that you CAN fight the government but an example of the power of the second amendment?
Christopher Dorner is just one of the worst possible examples you could have chosen.

The Second Amendment should be (and so far has been) a deterrent to Elitist Authoritarian abuse. Convenience and liquor stores are often victimized by armed robbers. Gun stores? Not so much.

As to Dorner, I do not hold him up as any kind of "hero", merely as an example in the flaw of the aforementioned argument. But I'm sure you have some other examples you'd like to share - please feel free.

Sergeant Grumbles: Amos Quito: Grabbers like you

Who said I'm a grabber?
I agree with the second amendment in theory.

There are many "theories" WRT the Second Amendment. What's yours?

Sergeant Grumbles: I disagree with the sentiment that seems to pervade a certain segment of the country, yourself included it seems, that's it's going to come down to valiant gun owners hanging onto the last shreds of freedom

The deterrent factor should prevent such a scenario from ever manifesting. Unless the likes of Feignstein have their way.

Sergeant Grumbles: God forbid they fight for the rest of the amendments the way they fight for the second, because then I might actually believe all that "protecting our freedoms" spiel.

Fight? Fight how? With what?

As I have said repeatedly, the Second Amendment is unique in that it is the ONLY right that has teeth, and gives the People the ability to defend all other rights. Are other rights "guaranteed" in the Constitution eroding - being chipped, chiseled and ground into powder by an increasingly arrogant, oppressive government?

The First?
The Fourth?
The Fifth?
The Sixth?
The Eighth?
The Ninth?
The Tenth?

The Why yes - YES THEY ARE, aren't they?

So, what next? Shall we tell the Big Bad Gubbermint to stop that shait - OR ELSE?

Or else what?

Google Weston 1998 Capitol Hill.

I don't have a problem with firearms.  I have a problem with the insane having firearms.

So, there's no way she damaged that cop car with her car (it's clear that an earlier Farker is right - their own barrier system did that).

I hate to say it, but it is totally believable to me that had she been less attractive or male, she wouldn't have survived quite as long

I hear tell that there are video games with similar parameters.  The cops, they are training with them.

I love the blue balls gun grabbers are getting over this. You're disgusting people.

2013-10-03 08:10:11 PM
Amos Quito: Elitist Authoritarians (party affiliation is irrelevant) like their power - they want more and more power, and prefer that their subjects be defenseless. This is why they focus on "assault weapons" - because they can be an effective deterrent - as opposed to handguns - which would be more of a public safety issue.

You really think having access to assault weapons somehow keep their "power" at bay?  Jesus Christ.  Red dawn syndrome for sure.

This one "moran" paralyzed every law enforcement agency on the west coast. One man had all those cops pissing in their britches for days.  Short memory?

One guy they handled quite easily, actually.  Despite your fascination with murderers, he didn't accomplish a damned thing.  And that was standard law enforcement.  If one of the gun nut groups decided to go all Red Dawn like you seem to be self-fallating about, do you really think that's the only level they'd go to?

No, not in the least. Any government should have a healthy respect for the governed - but they won't if they have no reason to respect them.

Red Dawn syndrome again.  You think respect by the government can only come from the end of a gun.  Don't you see how irrelevant the gun issue is so far as government oppression goes?  However many guns any given nut can squirrel away is completely irrelevant in the long run.  You and everyone like you are not concerned with you in a militaristic manner, simply because you are not and never will be a threat to them, despite your delusions of grandeur to the contrary.

No, what keeps the government in check in that fashion is the military, who swears an oath to the constitution, and not the government, and not the president, whomever that might be.  They're betting equipped, better trained, and more willing and more able to do what would have to be done.  This is why gun nuts with Red Dawn syndrome are irrelevant to the question.

So  now you're a gun-grabbing democrat? Or what?

I told you already.  I'm a lapsed Republican waiting for the maniacs and the extremists to go home so we can go back to being a respectable, functional party.  I have a gun cabinet in my home, where I securely keep my arms.  I got target shooting at least once a month.  I've had a white tailed deer license most years of my life since I was 12.  I learned to shoot from my father, who had me shoot (with severe supervision) a shotgun at the age of 7.  Damned near broke my shoulder.  He taught me that guns aren't toys in a way no lecture ever could.  I respected them right then and there, and treat them with that respect.

But you guys?  You think they're toys, still.  You think they're a god-given right.  Guess what, champ?  They aren't.  They're not a right, at least so far as I see it.  They are a responsibility.   And we as a country have failed in that responsibility.  And we can either act like a pack of greedy, over-entitled children and stamp our feet and yell and holler because someone is threatening what TOYS you have, or you can act like an adult and understand what being responsible means.

This the core of the issue.  Your side of the debate cannot handle and is not willing to deal with the responsibility that comes with firearms.  You have delusions of grandeur where you and your varmint rifle hold off waves and waves of commie pinko evil government types.  You cannot distinguish between fantasy and reality, and the rest of us have to deal with the reality you insist on continuously shiatting on for the sake of not letting anyone touch your toys.

You'll grow up someday.  I did.  And if there's hope enough for one dumbass like me, there's hope enough for a dumbass like you.

Crazy lady went a bit to crazy I guess.

"Cornered, the woman came out of the car and was cut down by gunfire, officials said."

This is why you stay in the car until they can see your hands.

Yeah at a certain point it doesn't matter what you do or don't or didn't do.

/hot like the nation's tempers

Except it really does.
She wrecked the car then got out. The officers don't know if she's going to swing up a weapon and start shooting or not and after her prior behavior they're not inclined to give her the benefit of a doubt so they neutralize the threat.
Had she stayed in the seat, she would probably still be alive assuming she didn't suffer grievous injury during the crash.

Except it really really doesn't. They were already at the point of using deadly force. Either way they were gunning her down. That is the point you seem to miss which is why I provided an example. Those people in the truck didn't open the door and start running. They were presumed a hostile first and shot at. The point of stopping and not getting shot ended about the time her actions were perceived hostile at the gates.

The sit still routine is really only good for situations where the cops aren't already planning on killing you.

I don't really think posting a picture is providing an example.
The point you're not getting is she wrecked the vehicle, which is a different scenario than a couple sitting in a vehicle waiting for officers to approach for whatever reason your example has.
Had she stayed in the car, and assuming more competency than a sea sponge on the part of the officers involved, they would no ...

You haven't done your homework on this one.
