No, I don't think so, failmitter.

O'Connor's idea of being outrageous and provocative: going on live TV and calling out the Pope for covering up decades of physical and sexual abuse of children.

Cyrus's idea of being "outrageous and provocative": going on live TV and giving a fat girl a rimjob.

I can't believe I'm white-knighting Shinyhead O'Connor here, but she:

(a) actually possessed some musical talent at one point, and

(b) could eat a dumpster full of garbage and not be 1% as trashy as Miley Cyrus.

Actually, that letter was on point.

Sinead was making a political statement.

Miley has nothing to rebel against so she's trying to be edgy by sticking out her tongue.

ZeroCorpse: You don't know how the music industry works, do you?

Yes, she's living large now. And when she's dried up and they no longer need her, they take it all back. They take her stuff, they make her "pay back" the money, and she drops off the face of the Earth as far as they're concerned. She doesn't own any of her music; The record company does. She may not even own her own "likeness" because they've tied it up in legal bullshiat.

Her piles of money will fade the moment she is no longer young and sexy. Sinead is right. She needs to focus on her music; not her sex appeal. When the company decides it's time to replace her with a younger, sluttier model, she'll be out on her ass, and nobody will take her music seriously because she crapped away her integrity with this stuff.

The music industry is full of former legends who are now performing State Fairs just to feed themselves.

Yeah, but it's a damn shame that nobody understood the message.  Everybody in the US was like "WTF?  What's wrong with the Pope?".  The message didn't even spark an investigation or anybody coming out to say "Yeah, I was a victim, too".  It just fell flat and nobody even understood why she did it.

Then ten years later, all of that Catholic sexual abuse came to the forefront.  A career ruined because people are fraktards.  Not even an apology because everybody completely forgotten she existed.

Maxc7001: Didn't Sinead O'Connor basically advertise for a husband by offering anal a couple of years ago?

Doesn't sound familiar at all - kind of sounds the opposite of what she's known for. The whole comparison between her and Miley that subby's going for here is pretty ridiculous. Sinead O'Connor made people mad in her day because she called out the Pope for covering up sex abuse. People were incredibly stupid about it. She was right and brave to do what she did. You can't speak truth to power while staying deferential and polite.

That said, I can't imagine why she thinks Miley Cyrus wants her advice. Miley is correctly delighted with how much press she and her lolling tongue and naked ass are getting.

freetomato: ZeroCorpse: All I know is that even on the cover of Rolling Stone, Miley has her farking tongue sticking out, and I'm sick of seeing it.

She's like a damned llama.

Reminds me more of this:

I have been trying to think of who she reminds me of, with her angular eyebrows in a perma-frown and her tongue constantly hanging out of her mouth.

It finally dawned on me.

White_Scarf_Syndrome: That was great, Sinead.  Thank you.  Except the part about Miley having any talent.  Missed that one.

I don't understand why all of the celebs who've been criticizing her talk about her "great voice" and "obvious talent" when it's obvious that her AWing is essential to her career as she has NO TALENT.

Has she ever made a song without Autotune? EVER?

Everytime I hear one of her new songs, I'm like, "why would anyone intentionally make such a horrible song?" IMO, she's got nothing on Rebecca Black.

Old and busted, so last week - Vanilla Ice to Justin Beiber: "Don't be a douche."
New hotness - Sinead O'Connor to Miley Cyrus: "Don't be a whore."

/Scary to think that Ice and O'Connor are role models and mentors now.

Yeah, Sinead is a somewhat different kind of attention whore, and didn't really engage in the kind of shiat she's cautioning against, albeit because she was focused on her own brand of fundamentally meaningless AW bullshiat instead.
