I could totally use this. I'm half deaf in my left ear due to years of clubbing.

Those seals make a really loud noise right when you hit them.

dragonchild: Hopefully this means more people in middle age sharing the world I already live in, leading to demand for quieter technology.  I'm seeing more and more products and locations simply not regard high-frequency noise pollution as a design consideration.  They figure pretty much anyone over 30 has wilfully destroyed their hearing and they're usually right.

Blenders. I don't know what the problem is, I bought a blender recently and it is the loudest, noisiest thing in the kitchen. Which I don't understand because companies advertise the quietest dishwasher, the quietest fridge, then you get this blender that sounds like a 1940s centrifugal jet engine inhaling a toolbox.

Konataism: Contents Under Pressure: I'll be impressed when they find a cure for tinnitus

Wooo, tinnitus club! Mine's just mildly annoying, so I'm not sure I'd jump on a cure if it had any risks or side effects. I sleep like a baby with just barely audible noise in the room. I also have no clue when or why it started, but it's been like this for at least a decade.

Suffer from Tinnitus as well myself, recently read about a study that said taking a drug geared for epilepsy would prevent Tinnitus from occurring or worsening. still no cure fo EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I rather enjoyed having my inner ear hair destroyed by J.'s guitar at the 40 Watt in Athens.

FTFA: Scientists have found a potential cure for permanent deafness caused by loud noise exposure, infection and toxic drugs, using a drug that stimulates the inner ear.

Who needs a drug for that? My ladyfriend does that to me with her tongue.
