No.
Texas, Wisconsin, and Pennsyltucky are ahead of us in line.
/And Maricopa County is not the state of Arizona.

Yeah but the Governor passed the "brown people can be asked to prove citizenship at any time" crap.

I live in Minnesota and I had a recently relocated Arizonian say to me "I wonder why so many Somalians settle in Minnesota. You'd think they would gravitate to somewhere like Arizona where it's warm."

Maybe it's because Minnesota has social programs that tend to support immigrant populations rather than look upon them with scorn and disdain. Maybe warm weather isn't the most important thing in life after all.

She wasn't too happy with that. She said something about how they were entitled to look upon immigrants with scorn because 'they all get free healthcare and we have to pay for ours', then stomped off in a huff.

So I don't think it is just ol' Joe. He'd never last if people didn't eat that crap up.

Next time say, "It's not warm in Arizona.  It's hellish."

Aw, come on.. It's like a nice day in hell.

It's a dry heat though.

Yeah, but so is an oven, but I don't wanna live in there blah blah...

It's tied with Texas.

Having lived in both, I gotta give Texas right of first refusal.

I have never seen a place that was more impressed with itself, and I used to live in the SF Bay area.

One of my favorite responses to my relatives from the south when they complain about how cold WI is: "I'd rather deal with cold and cruel weather than cold and cruel people."

/Why do they always visit in the winter?  So they can complain about how miserable they are?

Who is your governor, Mr. Glass House?

Ya got me there, but I never said there aren't some seriously disgusting people here.  At least the state's evenly divided on whether he's a scumbag or a savior, compared to places like AZ and TX, where a huge majority think the likes of Gov Walker is a savior to all things Murikan.

Ironically, it's snowbirds from places like Minnesota who are responsible for a LARGE chunk of Joe's votes... The blue hairs are absolutely terrified of the Big City, and they are convinced that Joe actually does something about crime in Maricopa County, so they march right down and cast their vote when they are in town for the winter... As a result, even when the state residents start tiring of his bullshiat, he has a strong enough out of state influence to make up the difference.

If I'm not mistaken, Florida has the same issue.  My parents have a condo in a retirement community in Naples.  My dad told me he's never seen so many scared white people in all his life.

Yeah, doesn't surprise me. Florida is snowbird country, too...

Weird that old people survive for so many years and then suddenly can't handle the world... I'd think they'd be so experienced that they'd be the ones to take charge.

It was the Lutheran Church that first sponsored many of the Hmong and Somali families.  Having lived in Minnesota for 10 years, there are plenty of right wing idiots of your own.

They gave it one, but it mysteriously disappeared and was found wandering in the desert near the Arizona/Mexico border.

Well, it's about 90% of Arizona...

Personally, I prefer Bisbee, it's a nice little town with a lot more nightlife then it should have.

It's the closest place to get the fark away from the 2-1/2 mile long strip mall outside the main gate of Fort Huachuca that they call Sorry, er Sierra Vista.

It used to be our 4th of July tradition when we lived In Phx. My friend's mom lives down there, so we would have a place to stay, get to get our drink on and still get the small-town 4th feel.

I also highly recommend the fireworks show, just because about 20 of them bounce down the side of the tailings pile the launch them from, so there's always the added element of fun/danger... :-)
