COMALite J: I've heard it said that at his peak earning period, if someone had laid a $50,000 bill on the ground in front of him and told him that was his to keep by simply picking it up off the ground, but that he could only do so under the condition that he forego all other income he would've obtained from any other sources during the time it would take him to do so, that he'd walk off and leave it. It wouldn't be worth it to him. It'd be a net loss.
ImpendingCynic: MrEricSir: Bill Gates and his posse are responsible for dozens, if not hundreds, of unnecessary incompatibilities that prevent technology from working together properly.I'm not defending Bill, but to be fair, their customers would have been seriously p*ssed if MS hasn't preserved backwards compatibility. That's not to say that Windows 8 needs DOS 3.1 support, but there's probably a point (somewhere around Windows 98) where they should have cut the cord so we could all move forward.
