Uranus Is Huge!: Mitch Taylor's Bro: Uranus Is Huge!: Bf+: CynicalLA: Do you enjoy making people mad

One cannot make someone else mad-- Anger comes from within.
As a troll, you already know this, though you may choose to believe otherwise.

It's a good thing cyclists never say things like, "Nothing makes me happier than the impotent rage of drivers..."

Because then they'd have to face you and the accusation of trolling.

Point of order: ONE cyclist said that. But nice try at justifying your assholishness by generalizing the statement to other cyclists.

Are you really going to make me Google another Fark.com cyclist vs driver thread over a farking 's'?

I bet you look great in a nylon zip-up shirt.

I sure do. Pretty damned good in lycra shorts, too. And nothing would make me happier than for you to waste your time googling another fark thread. It's obvious you've made up your mind and any cyclists you see who are obeying the rules of the road -- as I do -- go completely unnoticed. So, do what you want to do.

Lawnchair: astro716: I thought it was because the left brake is the front tire, and you don't want to be slowing down with the front tire while you're signaling the turn.  That's a quick way to go over the handlebars.

You want to be stopping with your front tire (primarily) since about 75% of your braking power is in the front wheel (weight transfer... it even matters on a 20 pound bike).  Getting in the habit of using the mostly the back is a quick way to skid through an intersection because you couldn't stop in time.

The front wheel (or wheels, if you're in a car) does have most of the stopping power, but if you couldn't stop before going through an intersection, you didn't think the situation through carefully enough.

That last comment was mean. I watched for 45 seconds. It was very humorous. Enjoy your exercising.

JohnAnnArbor: I actually had my taillights out for a while, so I did the hand signals, just as specified in drivers' ed.

I got a LOT of weird looks.

(I assume the right turn signal originated as the left arm out the window, pointing to the right over the roof.)

theorellior: CynicalLA: If you can't go the speed limit then you shouldn't be blocking the road.

Change the law then, dumbfark. The law says I can take a lane and if you don't like it you can go chase yourself. Or get arrested for murder if you decided to clear the lane yourself. Sucks to be you.

He doesn't need to murder you. He can just huck a baseball, or a bag of flour/rice, or a bucket of sand at you...

CynicalLA: I may speed but I never impede traffic. I'm always aware of my surroundings and go with the flow of traffic. The laws I break don't affect any other drivers and that's the big difference. Do you understand?

And what you don't understand is that by speeding you are breaking the law.  Reckless driving kills more people than bicycling.  You're a menace to society.

theorellior: Nothing makes me happier than the impotent rage of drivers who can't just run roughshod over every person and thing in their way with their gasoline-powered movement machines. I think the next time I run a stop sign I'm gonna do a little victory waggle with my butt at the fat slobs idling their way toward a stop. Guess what? If I go on a rampage with my bike I might break someone's arm or leg but I can't do that much damage before running out of steam and, besides, someone's gonna cold-cock me before things get too out of hand. Drivers, well, we have to restrain them through strictly-enforced laws because they could run over a herd of grandmothers before even noticing their iPad had been jostled out of their hands.

Sucks to be you, drivers. Sucks to be you.

Honestly, drivers should give bikers the same courtesy that bikers give pedestrians.  "On your right!" as you whiz up behind them. If they don't move, hit the little farker.  The world will not miss anyone on a bike. If they had any money, they'd be in a car.

Speeding =/= reckless driving. When the state lowered speeds to 55 mph, driving at 60 didn't suddenly change from 'safe' to 'reckless'.

Traffic moving at different speeds is what causes accidents, not speeding per se. This is why impeding traffic is against the law. This has been pointed out multiple times during the thread. These posts have been ignored by the bicyclists who claim that the law states that cars are supposed to wait or go around. The law actually states that slower-moving vehicles are supposed to pull over and let the faster-moving traffic go past. This applies to bicycles, slow cars, farm equipment*, or really anything that can't keep up with traffic.

*In some states, certain farm equipment needs to have special warning signs and isn't allowed to travel on public roads at night. This isn't because drivers hate farmers; it's because a slow-moving vehicle (even a large one) creates a hazard, especially at night.

theorellior: Funny, the law says the cyclist is allowed to be on the road regardless of your road rage. I thought you were all concerned about the law? If the cyclist has to stop for stop signs you have to yield the road to another lawful vehicle. Sorry if that makes you angry.

The moment the following happens, I'll consider bikes the equivalent to cars on the roads:

1. You pay taxes for the infrastructure necessary. Bike lane paint isn't free.
2. The police actually enforce laws on cyclists.
3. You are required to have insurance for your bike.
4. You are capable of traveling within 10 mph of the posted speed limit.
5. Those seizure inducing headlights are outlawed.

Without these five points, particularly #1, you are nothing but mooches on society.

1. Most of us own cars and pay taxes.
2. The police already do that.
3. Write to your state legislators.
4. That isn't a requirement of driving on a road unless a minimum speed limit is posted.
5. If people like you were capable of seeing us as humans riding a human-powered vehicle and didn't feel the need to murder us, we wouldn't need a wide array of flashing lights to get your attention.

The bicyclists in this thread keep saying this. That doesn't make it true. You're supposed to pull over and let people pass you if you can't keep up with the normal flow of traffic.
