True, but I always saw that as a symbolic nomination and award to the entire American people for electing somebody who was not a Republican, ushering in a new time of peace.

He may be a borderline dictator with no respect for individual rights, but you know what? He also really did make a substantial contribution to world peace, and that means he deserves the Nobel far more than a lot of people who have won it before. Also, nothing he has done is objectively worse than drone strikes on funerals or killing 100,000+ people in a war based on a blatant lie, so criticisms from America and its people are never likely to have any importance to anyone outside of America, however factually accurate or cogent they might be. That is George W. Bush's legacy, and it will forever taint Obama as well.
