So they'd launch 100 missiles without warheads that won't make it past the border?

He's very upset that Obama has been playing footsie with the Iranians.

Of course we could have been friends with the Iranians after 9/11, but "W" just had to start spewing his "Axis of Evil" nonsense.

Iran has oil.  Lots and lots of oil.

Israel has.... um.....

What does Israel have again?

Well of course that's ridiculous hyperbole. I think we can all agree, though, that Obama talking to the Iranians is the same as a 100 meter Katamari ball made of Hitlers.

More hyperbolic than the McDonnell Planetarium dome.

50 Shades of North Korea?  Sounds kinky.

Bahhhhh, we might actually be talking the Iranians out of a nuclear program instead of bombing the country to hell.

If Iran is 50 North Koreas, I guess there would be a 50-way tie for the Iranian National Golf Championship at about 124 under.

Dear Americans, it's very selfish of you to shut down your government when there's a lot of defending Israel form imagined threats you could be doing.

80+ nuke missiles of short and mid-range capacity, that will be launched against those that would try to punish Israel for their crimes against humanity.

/Provided Israel keeps control of Jerusalem, otherwise  they can't ascend to Jewish heaven.

//Irans a nice place. Looks a lot like Utah, but with less Christian Fundies.

Ed Grubermann: We would like to renegotiate the relationship.

It's actually kind of happening. I see a bit of it (Obama's not nearly as quick to genuflect to Israel as W, and even Clinton, were) myself, and many in my folks' community see "OMG OBAMUSLIMFART IS  FRIENDS WITH IRAN AND INDONESIA AND NORTH KOREA'S GONNA SELL NUKES TO SYRIA TO DROP ON MY COUSIN'S PLACE IN PETACH TIKVAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"

I assume it's a bit closer to my view than theirs. Israel (and by extension, lots of interested-party Americans) prefers military solutions to conflicts both real and imagined, and Americans are a bit more fond of "wait-and-see" (at least these days we are).

Marcus Aurelius: What does Israel have again?

Domestic industry (including pretty much every sector you can think of - tech, healthcare, defense [obviously], transportation...), money (even from sources other than the US foreign aid - median wages are pretty high, especially compared to Lebanon, Egypt [pre-Arab Spring], Saudi Arabia, Syria [pre-Civil War]...), a well-educated populace, free direct-democratic elections (including some* representation by minorities), a functional liberal/Labor/Workers' party, an actual democratic ally in the MidEast (not for nothing, and yes, sometimes, it's more trouble than seems worth it on that front), and lots of American expats.

*not enough IMO, but it's a start

From what I saw, Netanyahu made it sound like anything other than threatening imminent death to Iran is equivalent to shipping all of the world's nukes directly to Teheran and cordially inviting them to kill everybody.

He even pulled out the old "Israel will be wiped off the map" canard, because that always plays in Peoria.

No negotiating. Jews are the brains. Goyim are the brawn.  Sometimes we forget our role. That's what AIPAC is for.

He's not wrong.   A nuclear armed North Korea isn't very dangerous to Israel.  It's dangerous to the South Korean's and their US allies.

A nuclear armed Iran, on the other hand, is easily 50 times as dangerous to Israel.   Nukes would level the playing field and embolden the Iranian's in that corner of the world.  Israel would no longer be allowed to do some of the shady shiat it does.

The American media, Wall Street, the Federal Reserve and Hollywood.

A: It's almost like Israel is the 51st state.

B: Israel would never try to be a US state.

A: Why not?

B: Then they'd only have 2 senators.

Dr Dreidel: I was only half way joking.  I'm intimately familiar with Israel.  Hell, I got a framed pic of Moshe Dayan for my birthday in July of 1967.

Israel has had a free ride from the UK and France, and then from the US, for some time now.  There's no way it can continue for a lot longer, given their present position of dominance.  I just hope they can make nice with the Iranians.
