This is completely asinine. One house of the Government is allowed to hold the entire Federal Government hostage, for their own petty reasons. If the President were to do what the House GOP have done, they would label him a Traitor and try to impeach him for damaging the safety and security of the country. And yet when they do it, they are "defending against tyranny?"

Maybe those Eastern European countries have it right, when their Parliamentary sessions break down into fist-fights? At least if we had that going on here, we could watch the GOP get the Stupid beat out of them once in a while. I have no doubt that President Obama could, and likely would, put Boehner on his ass, were he given the chance.

But no, the President is too classy to resort to violence over the stupidity and childishness of the GOP. So instead we wait for the few remaining moderates in the House GOP to side with the Democrats and get a clean bill to fund the Government passed, while hundreds of thousands of Americans are put out of work, the credit rating of the Federal Government is put at risk (again), and we teeter on the edge of another plunge into worldwide recession.

Instead of us continuing to talk/debate about the same shiat on here, I feel that it would be a nice break in the monotony to decide who would win in an actual fight between the two sides in congress. We should probably set some ground rules like if weapons are allowed, if the Tea Party gets to use their Jazzy Scooters and wear their helmets, the location of the fight, etc.

No weapons straight up bare knuckles and my guess is the Dems take the fight as they have most of the combat vets and the black caucus the GOP has a bunch of rich kids

I could see him saying that while sitting atop Chris Christie's shoulders for some reason.

I say Hell in a Cell, each party gets one person.  Dems should pick Biden.

Too messy. On my planet, when a duel must be, we search among our many slave races for two champions, prime specimens of violence and rage, arm them with crude iron, and let them hash it out.

For six months, the Senate has been demanding a conference with the House on the 2014 budget - talks that might have prevented the impasse in the first place.

This point bears repeating. The Senate passed a budget months ago. The House has refused to discuss it. Any whaargarble about how We Need Serious Talks About Cutting The Budget Therefore Comma rely upon ignoring that fact.

Calling the Republicans terrorists has been proven to be a fair criticism given how the economy has crashed as a result of the shutdown.

No wait, the markets are up since the shutdown started.  Go fark yourselves, libs.

Better yet, the Elimination Chamber. Boehner and Pelosi start - the four chambers contain Steve King, Michele Bachman, Steny Hoyer and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

Democrats in a blowout when Boehner submits to Pelosi's finisher - a superkick to the face called "MANSPLAIN THIS".

just saw how the markets opened today.  ok, so maybe now it is slightly down.  hardly a disaster, though.

Triple digit loss on the Dow is not slight.

Investors have begun to figure out that the Republicans don't want a CR and must include the debt ceiling in the hostage taking. If Republicans were to give in on the CR, they would not be taken seriously in the debt ceiling fight when they put in all the same riders again.

My assumption is Obama will invoke Amendment 14 section 4 and the GOP will respond with an attempt to impeach. That should tie up President Obama for the rest of his second term, which has been the goal of the Republicans since January.

Yeah, all those people staying home without pay, all those labs waiting for grants to be reviewed letting go people they can't afford to pay, any one harmed by the FAA, USDA, FDA inspections not being made, fark all of them, right? 'Cause, hey, stocks aren't in a historic free fall.

So now the DJIA is a proper measure of the economy? I thought it wasn't when we mention it's doubled under Obama.
