Stop the goddamn presses! Someone found insect bits in their fruit cup.  Oh gawd I can't stop shaking.

This is both common and not a big deal. Ask for another one if you are grossed out, otherwise pick it out and continue eating.

I am sure the legs will be neither crisp or palatable.

On Bangkok Airways? It was probably supposed to be there.

...should not have asked for the organic fruit cup...

This really bugs me. When I fly, I only eat organic and free range rat feces with my cracker animals.

It's the one after the kosher option when you book your flight through Expelia.

You do know that insect material is in pretty much any processed food, right?

The horror.

They serve food on airlines?

Phuket....I'm putting that airline on my "Do Not Fly" list.

Well at least it has been ground up into peanut butter and not just chilling out on the surface. I specified smooth, not crunchy.

I think that is all the proof needed to show that Fark is in fact a mental synchronization experiment gone horribly astray...or right.  Whatever...I's sufficiently creeped to say Phuket myself

I stick with the cold fish head and turnip, thanks.

Not exactly.  For a lot of products, it includes whole insects.  Mind you, they're small insects like thrips and aphids, sometimes insect larva and eggs, but they're whole.  Insect fragments would imply parts of larger bugs like beetles.  Not too sure about roaches.

Common? Maybe. Big deal? HELZ YES! Pick it out and continue eating? Were you raised in a cave by Bigfoot or something??

Shhhh. Be quiet or everyone will want one.

Sure, the food prep people might have been responsible for it, but this is the REAL guy behind it:

No but I'm also not a squeamish nancy.  I've worked in the food industry.  I still mange to eat without retching with full knowledge of the things are in food and are almost always consumed without anyone knowing they were there.

Insects are a common source of protein in many diets around the world, they are only a less common source of protein for the rest of us..

Exactly! Hell, I've watched Andrew Zimmern from "Bizarre Foods" eat insects many times and he regularly praises how tasty they are. Not saying I would or anything, but I respect people who can see it as a source for nutrition.

Excuse me?  What airline food?  I haven't been offered airline food in the last 10 years of flying (except for those on-request-only $30 box-of-individually-wrapped-crap-I-could-have-bought-from-racks-at-the -terminal-newstand).  Meals were one if the first things to go, before charging for bags.
