Obviously not every beer ever. Not even every beer on the market today. But it was...a thing.

Natural Ice is on there, so I'm covered.

Yes this is dog: Natural Ice is on there, so I'm covered.

That is one of the three I will never touch again, along with Steel Reserve and King Cobra (which is technically malt liquor, I know).

Map fails without the beer I drink.  There.  I took care of that for everybody.

What a pointless waste of time that could have been better spent enjoying a drink of beer.

FTA: Ironically, in spite of the incredible variation and sophistication it celebrates in this beverage of choice, the reality of a print that size seems better suited to a university dorm room than an adult's apartment (or maybe that's just me; also, this would take up most of my studio...).

And this is why real adults move out of studio apartments and get homes, so they can have a garage/basement/rec-room where this would look great.  Grow up and become a real adult.

CSB:
I used to work at a grocery store when I was in high school.  We'd have tons of Polish college students come over for the summer, work 100+ hours a week for a few months, save as much money as they could and then go back and not have to work all year.

Apparently, the Polish word for "good" is "dobra."  All farking summer, every year, I heard over and over again... "COBRA IS DOBRA!"

Even I tap out when it comes to Steel Reserve and I can handle Natty Ice like it's spring water. And there's some shiat called Hurricane HG or something; I'd rather drink my own vomit than that.

Tecate. It's fairly formaldehyde-ish.

2013-10-02 05:40:55 AM
And $72 will buy how many beers?

2013-10-02 05:41:54 AM
Note that I don't usually drink beer, because it basically all tastes like shiat and gives me heartburn. I generally prefer bourbon or Scotch, or occasionally Irish.

2013-10-02 05:43:02 AM
"100 pints of lager!"

"Yeah, and four papadums!"

The craft beer I drink that no one has ever heard of is better than anything you've had.

Sgygus: elbows_deep_silent_queef: Note that I don't usually drink beer

Yup, this beer thread is a great place ... for me to poop on.

The thread basically consisted of people talking about shiatty beer they had. I just threw the previous post in for context hoping that some sorry asshole would get to share the misery of drinking a Tecate. The thread's been lame, and it's not because it's about beer. Everyone's got their favorite toxin. Mine's not beer, but I've had the stuff, and Tecate, Stag, Michelob Ultra, Steel Reserve, and Miller Genuine Draft are all fairly horrible, even relatively. On the other hand Natty Ice & Natty Light, Keystone, and similar beers seem okay, and a few of the varietals that I've had haven't been too bad. Blue Moon, and Leine's Summer Shandy were okay. I used to drink Killian's (the Red), which wasn't too bad.

Every time I walk up to a bar to order a drink, my brain creates a map just like this to help me decide what I need.

It is an almost instantaneous and fully comprehensible process, with a useful outcome.

2013-10-02 06:35:00 AM
A map of beer?  How do you fold it?

2013-10-02 06:38:30 AM
I'm too drunk to find my beer.

2013-10-02 06:39:58 AM
I think we can all agree that there is a beer for everybody.

2013-10-02 06:55:24 AM
I love how they have some of the American style brews mapped to a Solo Cup.

You can  have this poster for a mere $72 dollars, or the cost of paper and the loss of your morality if you have a large format printer like I do.  Luckily for me, I gave up on morality a long time ago.

Don't see Mackeson Triple Stout. Meh.

2013-10-02 08:18:21 AM
I'll just take the $72 and perform some beer cartography on my own.

2013-10-02 08:34:34 AM
There is no Little Kings Cream Ale listed. Just saying.

2013-10-02 08:40:07 AM
AleSmith, Older Viscosity, Shorts, Big Sky, Brown Shugga, Cigar City, Maine Lunch, Lawsons Finest Liquids, Midnight Sun Treat, Deschutes Abysss, Alpine Duet, Avery Maharaja, Hill Farmstead, Zombie Dust, Surly, Kuhnhenn, Pelican, SweetWater, New Glarus, RJ Rockers, Odell, Bruery, Lost Abbey, Jack's Abby, Heavy Seas, Sixpoint, Voodoo, Evil Twin, Russian River, Elysian, Hair of the Dog, Grand Teton, Captain Lawrence, Great Divide, Upright, Pipeworks, Dry Dock, Saint Somewhere.

man this is a thorough list.  Best beer name dropping i have seen yet.  And i didn't bother mentioning the Great Lakes and Founders and Brooklyn and Green Flashes and Stones on the list because everyone knows them.  But does everyone know how ridiculous the beer from Alpine or Dry Dock or Lawsons Finest Liquids or Surly or Jack's Abby or Hair of the Dog is?  Probably not.  The only omission I see is Toppling Goliath.  Very very obscure, very very highly rated brews out of Iowa.  Very hard to find.  They get top marks for their Imperial Stouts.

2013-10-02 08:44:34 AM
Also, if you live in a state that allows beer to be shipped to you and want to order many of the beers on that list, letspour.com is the best i have found.  I have no relationship with that site except as a customer.

FunkyBlue: Don't see Mackeson Triple Stout. Meh.

My favorite stout by far and I can't get it. No place in Maine stocks it anymore and no distributors out-of-state can legally sell/send it to me. Best friend in NJ brings me up a case every now and then.

This is really stupid. Either they should have stayed with types of beers, or types of beer plus American products. But this weird shiat of mixing types with some American product with some international product only shows how incomplete this chart is.

That "map" is like reading the boring parts of Genesis.

Lager begat American lager who lived two hundred and twenty aught years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Sam Adams...

You have a wide format printer, but don't have adobe acrobat?

I wouldn't spend 72 bucks on it, but I could see the usefulness of it if you plan to expand your beer-izons.

That being said, I had no idea Ghostface killa had his own beer. Learn something new everyday. I wonder if it's any good.
