I guess the question for yourself is:  Why would they prefer to  bring in someone new then promote you to the position?  Twice?

You don;t.  Just, next time the position comes open, go to the hiring authority with a good resume, ad make the case that you are qualified, since you have trained the last 2 people in the job.

They mixed pseudo-Christianity and pseudo-Norse. They considered themselves Christian. They were, in reality, insane. They were  not neo-Pagans in  any sense of the term. Neo-Paganism didn't show up until  after WWII.

Lol Id say cite please but...

The term "neo-pagan" was coined in the 19th century in reference to  and classical.

Uh, you should RTFA again. Or for the first time. The GERMAN PEOPLE considered themselves Christian. The NAZIS were specifically pagan. You do realize that the Nazis were just a subset of the German population, right?

Hunh. Far as I was aware it originated with Gardner. You learn something new every day.

/Most of us nowadays do consider the Neo-Pagan movement to have started with Gardner, though. So it's worth noting that if you're going to refer to pre-Gardner Neo-Pagansim, you need to differentiate.

As far as I can tell the Nazis weren't exactly religious in the first place, so they pretty much adhered to the general culture. But this isn't my area of expertise, so yes, I may be wrong on what they called themselves. They were not, however, modern Neo-Pagans or Astaru (modern-day Norse recreationists).

I'd say neither really, but it depends on what you mean by 'Nazis'. By and large the overall population was either in the traditional Lutheran-dominated protestant state churches or Roman Catholic, just as before. There was a movement of people who rejected the traditional denominations but identified as believing in God. It wasn't all that numerous (e.g. 3.5% in 1939) but very strong among party functionaries and true believers. The pagan stuff was mostly for SS-internal amusement and not even Hitler really wanted anything to do with that.

Their attitude towards religion was full of contradictions and as on so many other issues, they just made it up as they went along.

I'd have to go back in and look, but I think I read somewhere something like 65% of shipyard workers during the war were women.  Very odd that, US, UK and Soviets put women to work in heavy industry during WWII. Nazi's and Japanese didn't. Probably says something about cultural flexibility and priorities.

Nazi's
Step 1: Invade Poland.
Step 2: ????
Step 3: Victory!

Allies
Step 1: Manufacturer more guns, ships, tanks, and planes.
Step 2: Kill Nazi's
Step 3: See step one.

In Germany you have to get married by an official of the civil registry office for the marriage to be legally recognized. A church ceremony might be prettier, but without a trip to the civil registry you are not really married. It's been that way since Bismarck in order to transfer power from the churches to the state. Don't know about the neo-pagan stuff, but marrying in front of a government official has nothing to do with the Nazi ideology.

Not totally wrong.  But do a quick GIS for Wehrmacht beltbuckles; not exactly an atheist slogan on them, is it?
The regular army was Christian, if not Catholic, for the most part.

And no army backing him?  Hitler's just another failed art student.

Similar issue down in S. America (Argentina, Chile, maybe; don't remember which country atm) where the military basically took infants from the "communists" they'd spent decades killing, and gave them to people to raise, without telling them where they're from.

New genetic registries offers free testing, and suddenly there's lots of nervous retired right-wingers threatening "their" kids with disinheritance...or worse...if they get tested.

Guess you don't actually have to take the test, if your "parents" react that way...
