Wonder Woman can fly?

That was actually pretty good. In a Zack Snyder-y sort of way.

timujin: Wonder Woman can fly?

Yeah. At least the newer versions of the character can. Hermes hit her with a feather or somethiing.

Dunno. But from the studio's web page it appears they've done videos for Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Gloria Estefan and others. So it's clearly not just some dude in his basement with a Mac.

The great thing about selling an invisible jet is that you can sell it an unlimited number of times.

Hot. There's now way in hell she's actually a geek or gamer, but unicorn is comparatively believable.

I liked that better than Man of Steel, Green Lantern, Superman Returns, Superman 3 & 4, Supergirl, Super, Batman and Robin, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Daredevil, Kick-Ass, Elektra, Hulk, The Amazing Spiderman, Spiderman 3, The Dark Knight Rises, Ghost World, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Just kidding.
Elektra was awesome.

Wonder Woman: The Amazonian Zena-Warrior Princess in America That Has the Same Powers as Superman and Is a Lot Like Clash of the Titans ... is something I have absolutely zero interest in.

Wonder Woman: The Irresistible Sex Goddess With Powers Slightly More Increased Than Captain America Who Has Come To America and Operates As A Government Operative In A Spy Thriller ... is something I would watch.

To reiterate ... LESS Man of Steel - Clash of the Titans - Zena Warrior Princess ... and MORE Bourne Identity - Lara Croft - Barbarella with some fish out of water thrown in.

It's a trailer. It's proof of concept. And yeah, it would be nice to have some dialog, but the folks proved that they can string together some scenes, and make it look cool. Not bad in the least.

Wonder Woman is one of those projects that execs fear, because if they f*ck it up, they'll hear no end of crap about it. Sort of like Black Panther. It deals with characters that suits really don't want to go anywhere near because folks that they don't really understand are at the heart of the project. Better to go with characters they can understand: white guys doing stuff better than anyone else, even the folks from a foreign culture, because white guys are awesome. This doesn't apply to cartoons, because execs hand that sh*t over to folks who they don't really care about, and who the heck watches cartoons anyway? Which is why so many animated features get it right, because the execs keep the Hells out of the way. Live action, there are starlets to bang, there's craft services to sponge from, and stars to cozy up to for entirely unrelated projects, and to be seen with said stars.

Which is why you hand off directing to guys like del Toro, to Whedon, to Jackson, and a handful of others, whose innate geekiness and eccentricity scare execs off like it might be catching. Though, now that Whedon's done The Avengers, or you make someone like Favreau a producer to bore the Hells out of the execs who want to see what their money is buying and whose innate geekishness and somewhat overbearing nature makes them feel vaguely uncomfortable. That's the sad thing. With a Wonder Woman project, or Black Panther, you'd see execs constantly checking, constantly making sure that they were seen involved in projects that would make them feel less like outsiders, and progressive, and thus, impose their f*cking will on productions, sort of like The Wild, Wild West--remembering Smith's tale of the exec who wanted a giant mechanical spider...because...spiders.

Wonder Woman should happen. It's time. Long past. Heck, even bring Lynda Carter in for her cameo, and let her be f*cking awesome at it. But give it to a director who actually LIKES the material. Who loves it. Not to some hack who just wants another laurel, or paycheck.

And while we're at it: Black Panther motherf*ckers. T'Challa's passed over long enough. Dammit.

Sigh....  I get what they fx company did.  its good promotion for them.  But it looks like a deleted scene from Sucker Punch...a terrible movie for the same reason this is terrible.

Also, I would have liked to see someone with the correct look/size for Wonder Woman  (black chick in the video looked bad ass).   I wish they would have used Adrianne Curry.    shes 5'11

Shut up and take my money!

No.  Really.  If they don't turn this into a full length feature, then someone in Hollywood is stupid.  Sadly, lots of people in Hollywood are stupid.

My only complaint (and it's not a big one) is that they used that "generic low bass thud" sound a few times too many.  It was cool the first three thousand times it was used in films, but maybe it's time for higher-pitched thuds.  Or some other "big piece of stuff hit the ground" sound.  My current theory is the "generic low bass thud" is the largest button on the foley console, and the operators can't seem to avoid hitting it, even when they're actually trying to get "show squeaking" or "large bird fluttering its wings" as the effect.

I love it, yes, take all my money.

I like the fact they used a realistic looking woman rather than some shiatty tarted up cheesecake fluffer to appeal to the man-children. I would let my little girls watch something like this.

Well, it's WAY too indebted to Sucker Punch, but *shrug* still a better WW than Hollywood can muster.

The WB suits 'fear' WW for the same reason good cartoons like Young Justice get cancelled and we end up with crap like Beware the Batman: it won't sell enough merchandise/toys.

Nah, to actually get the right look you would have to use an athlete, or someone who could pass for one.

/Gina Carano would work

Yes. Height (or lack thereof) can be pretty easily faked in innumerable ways (watch The Lord of the Rings again for proof of this). Athletic build, not so much.

Interesting take. I would want her somewhat more powerful than Captain America. Maybe Spider-Man-level strength. In the DC Universe, she's on a level with the Martian Manhunter, and both are maybe a level under Superman in terms of strength.

Remember, she does have the strength of Herakles (and speed of Hermes, etc.) which is similar to the Captain Marvel formula. So, how strong is Herakles? In the myths, pretty darn strong: able to redirect rivers to clean out the Ægean stables, for instance, and that's while still a mortal, before becoming a full-fledged Olympian god.

With that in mind, in this video, IMHO she was putting way too much apparent effort into punching out ordinary human thugs. She should visibly pull her punches when fighting ordinary humans, since a single punch from her could easily shatter a human skull.

Pretty good. But, nowhere near as good as this.

(Bonus: the actor who should portray Superman [looks like he stepped right out of an Alex Ross painting]. And a pretty darn decent Wonder Woman, too.)

Lucy Lawless. No on ever said it had to be a really young Wonder Woman. She could be at the peak of her career, getting close to retirement.

Diana doesn't age.

Also, she's not really that relevant. She'd be great in a Trinity movie, but on her lonesome, nope. Although it would be awesome to see all the Jezebel sorts who constantly whine about blah blah blah have the chance to whine about a WW when it's not exactly what they want, which of course is WW being crowned Empress of the world. Or something.

Anyhow, Diana works best in a team setting. Except for when she's being passed around between Bruce, Clark, and Arthur.

/probably Hal, too. That dude has slept with everyone.

How to drain all the energy out of an action sequence:  abruptly move from normal speed to ultra slow-mo.

This is Zack Snyder's chief contribution to the cinema.

To be fair, he didn't pull that in Man of Steel. Also we got another farking hot Ma Kent. Just imagine...a threesome with Diane Lane and Annette O'Toole.

/beyond that, the movie was meh. Long live Christopher Reeve.

She's wonder woman. Isn't she supposed to be super strong on par with Superman? She kicked that one guy...shouldn't he have been punted clear across town?

CSB

I went to college with one of the Amazon women in the video.    She's married to Seth Green.   Super nice person.

I despair of there ever being a Live Action She Hulk movie.

Maybe if I were to redefine 'Live' as motion-capture CGI as seen in Avatar,
but with better graphics.

It should be a comedy, with some action.

Comaction TM?

Did she go to the Kristen Stewart  school of acting?
