Previous cultures would have rebelled for things like this. It's a blessing they isn't have iPhones and Facebook accounts to keep them preoccupied.

41 years...

He's been in solitary confinement for my entire lifetime.

Kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, high school, orchestra, community theater, the Army, a war, a hurricane, a career, a second career, a family...

All while he sat alone in a cell.

If I believed in God it's shiat like this that would make me stop.

So the judge died of liver cancer, or the inmate?

Your headline lacks clarity.

I think the state owes him healthcare at this point. Tossing a dependent out the door when they suddenly really need you is reprehensible behavior but I suppose such behavior is to be expected from an abusive caregiver.

Ex Black Panther, eh?

Suddenly his false imprisonment makes a whole lot of sense.

I dunno, if 41 years in solitary isn't cruel and unusual punishment, I don't know what is. Just shoot him if you have to but Jesus. your mind would be scrambled eggs after that.

Mugato: Why solitary? Don't you have to shiv someone or something to get that? I guess you don't have to worry about rape.

He was convicted of stabbing a guard to death.
His fingerprints were not the ones found on the murder weapon.
This country can sure suck greasy ass sometimes.

Angola is farking Hell on Earth.  As such, it is only moderately less tolerable than Louisiana in general.

nekom: Serious question:  What in the everloving fark is an inmate of 41 years going to do free?  I'm not saying he should or shouldn't be released, I'm not at all familiar with the case but that's a LONG time to be institutionalized.  And poor health to boot.  What exactly is he going to do?  Where will he go?

Brooks Hatlen knew the answer to that. Knew it all too well
