People do stupid things on a skateboard.  Lets chalk that up to lesson learned and move on.

Double the illegal activity, pollution and skateboarding.

High speed cameras. We get it.

This is going to get way worse before it gets better now that the iPhone 5S does 120fps.

I'll guess it's some form of cancer... maybe ass cancer.

The correct answer is 'nothing remotely interesting.'

Oh, man, I can't wait! Slow-motion bro flicks! Vines that cover less than 2 seconds of pointless activity, but filmed in slo-mo to make that activity stretch to 5 seconds of AWESOME!

Boy, a lot of people on this thread who probably can't walk to the bathroom without falling over.

The biggest problem is the foreground chalk colors blend and get lost in the busy backdrop.  They used sky-blue chalk against a blue sky, and rainbow shades against bright, multicolored buildings.  Next time, pick contrasting colors and a calmer background.

I think it is nice to see people doing real hard flips and frontside kickflips again, not that lame FS shiv that half flips.

Nothing interesting, apparently.

Even after this slo-mo view of it, I just don't understand the physics of the skateboard leaving the ground.

I thought that maybe I'd see some flex in the board storing the energy of the skater's stoop, but it appears the feet are right over the front wheels.  Is the tail hitting the ground?

confused.

I was wondering if it was some kind of stripper code...

So why do you stand on top of poles anyway? Most people who do things like sign installation/maintenance stand in a cherry picker, or on a platform next to the pole, but maybe I'm missing something here...

Simply, you note that the front gets kicked into the air using the leverage of the "tail" and the rear foot.
Once the front is up,  the forward foot kicks the front of the board just as the rear foot is lifted. causing the back of the board to rise while the front is already airborne.  They were throwing twist into it, but the basic move is called an "Ollie" and it's explained here

Yes, I skated when I was young.

I probably should pick it up again at some point, just for the lulz and the broken hip.

Admittedly I only stood on the top to show to the kids we had visiting. I run a summer camp/retreat center and some bees were swarming around the top of an element we use so I climbed up and sprayed them out and some kids were watching me so I stood on top of the pole and waved.

/We don't have the budget for a scissor lift.

And part of summer camp is patching up camp leaders who fall off of poles, I've seen the movies... :-)

/Be careful up there, for God's sake...
