Baseball? Seriously? I wonder if their ratings will be up or down for a postseason BB game vs a regular NFL matchup?

Honest question: is there a reason the Chargers and Raiders couldn't just swap home dates?

There was speculation for that but I guess they would rather take this route.

I'll be curious to see if any West Coast fans complain about having to stay up until midnight to watch a game to its conclusion.

I don't see anyone complaining about it, primarily because nobody gives a shiat about the Chargers and Raiders.  The degenerate gamblers and people who have Marmalard on their fantasy team will stay up to watch, but I won't give it a second thought.

It's only tough for us because we had to start drinking 3 hours earlier than you did.

Could give a crap less about these two teams. Hopefully they will both find a way to lose that game.

The NFL really needs to man up.  The NFL is America they should tell MLB to go fark themselves.  If given a choice America wants football over baseball.

Actually, I think the NFL is doing the right thing. They're letting MLB embarrass themselves.

And the Oakland situation is already a mess because the A's want to move to San Jose, but the SF Giants won't allow it and Bud "Mr. Magoo" Selig doesn't have the balls to do anything about it. I have no problem with what they're doing.

You get football when it's raining,
Football when it's snowing,
Football when the weather is fine.

You get football as a mid-day stimulant.
You get football with your afternoon football.
For any old ailment or disease, for Christ's sake have a game of football.

NFL knew prior to making the schedules that this might happen.

I have a more nefarious take on this.  What will the ratings look like for the Raiders game?  If they are good then you have a case to always schedule a late night west coast game in the coming seasons.  They do this with the NBA ( which drives me nuts) but I can see the NFL/NFL network using this as a case to continue the trend.   Anything to make money, aimirite?

Didn't the the first night of MNF have a late starting game, anyone have the ratings for that? or maybe the ratings for the 2nd half of that game vs. other programming?

I would also like to see a 10am game on the east coast.  It is annoying having to wait until 1:30pm for the first game to actually start.

I had Marmalard on my fantasy team, but benched him in favor of Neidermayer.

Great, we get to go into the worst farking stadium in the NFL (infield dirt everywhere), and an 11:35 ET start?

This is how bad the Raiders are...nobody wants to see them. NOBODY.

THIS.  We missed the Manning Bowl a couple of weeks ago, so that they could bring us the exciting Raiders-Jaguars matchup.  And last week, we were cut off from the thrilling OT finish to Seahawks-Texans, so they could start the Raiders game on time.

/Thank god for RedZone

Showing you guys raiders jags was a mercy, that way you could actually see one of the few raider wins this year.

I do have to laugh that they are doing this because of an Oakland A's game that will probably not even come to a half of the viewers of the Raiders Chargers.

2013-10-01 01:58:58 PM
Since it will be the only game on, and without RedZone to save us from the commercial fest, I hope this game is a passing frenzy that lasts 5 hours with a 2:00 AM infomercial during halftime on the East Coast.

2013-10-01 01:59:40 PM
Now maybe the Oakland area will get to watch a good game on TV during the day (let's not act like they're all dumb enough to go watch a baseball game).

Are people actually complaining about more football on TV?

Hell, start games at 8:30AM, I'll get up and watch football for 24 hours straight if its on. Well, I'll still need that little break between the late games and the SNF game to replenish drinks/food and get a quick dump in.

Well, I was thinking more like Bob in Oakland, Frank in San Diego, Steve in Oakland... hence the time zone point.

Who cares about the game. Chargers and Raiders in OAKLAND with the game ending close to midnight.......the cameras should be in the parking lot after the game for the best action.

Do people actually have pride for their time zone? I'm just happy I don't live on the east coast in general.
