Hopefully the Rays and the Rangers will play 25 innings.

Go Tribe.

As an Orioles fan all I can say is;

Go Tribe

I kind of wanted the jays to to send their bitter rival home for the season after another 6 months of being the brutalized victim, but I'm okay with play in games. At least we made you do that.

Subby, Cleveland hasn't seen a burn like that since their river caught fire.

At least I t isn't Detroit.

We'll keep a light on for you, Rays or Rangers.

Winner gets a day in Cleveland.  Loser gets two days in Cleveland.

Would you like to tie me up with some of your ties, Ty?

That's right, I just Caddyshack'd this thread...

And later, you might even get a trip to Detroit!

In other news today, Cubs fire their 66-96 manager.
Elsewhere, the Twins give their 66-96 manager a two year extension.

I totally stole the concept shown in this headline.

Thanks Subby

One more and it's a winning streak.  It has happened before.  Then again, they are the only team to lose to the Steelers in Pittsburgh's last eight games so they're not that great.

Also, this thread needs more major league quotes:

In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven't, the Indians have managed to win a few and are threatening to climb out of the cellar. into the playoffs.

This is going to be like an Aztec game. The loser goes home and the winner gets sacrificed to the Green Monster. My guess is Texas has three games of futility against the Sox.

After the top two the starters pitching is weak and neither has strong bull pen.

Rays looked sloppy in Toronto, almost lost yesterday, and had to travel to Texas for the game tonight.

See?  Dallas is a baseball town...they love it so much they added an extra game to the season.

Yesterday, one of my less sprotsy friends asked me, "So what's up with the Rangers today? Everyone seems so tense about them."

I explained that if they won that game, they'd be playing a play-in game for the honor of playing in a play-in game so that we can then know who's playing in the playoffs. GOT IT?

I'm now gonna have to look up if any baseball team has ever before faced three straight elimination games, all against different opponents.

Anyone have a stream for this game? My usual sites are all based in Europe, where no one gives a damn about baseball.

vipboxonline.eu has a couple (though they're in Europe too and probably don't care about baseball)

Three hits, a four pitch walk, and no runs

Beer cap: This feels like a 15-12 kind of game.

That goes 13 innings.

Heh.  In my mind, players would expect that kind of thing and be used to going over the defenders feet.  But I'm not a baseball player, so I wouldn't know anyways.
