The worst part about blowing up Chicago is that when I walk out of the theater, it's still there.

For Bay's movie, that's been consistently true. Compare the number of Optimus Prime pics that regularly got posted here vs. pics of Megan Fox straddling a motorcycle or car.

/say what you like about her, she got a lot more Net lovin' than her replacement

I think the Transformer movies are the worst movies ever! Way too long, pointless and confusing.

I bet the citizens of Chicago are disappointed none of the transformers were around for the filming.

The worst part of Michael Bay's movies is that they make explosions and giant robots boring.

The only thing worse in cinematic history was when George Lucas decided to turn Star Wars into a farking C-SPAN reenactment.

/ I didn't come here for the story, I came here for giant mechanical shiat blowing up; that's all you had to deliver and you failed!

There is a contingent of people who think an action movie is an action movie and you can't make any kind of qualitative distinction between them. Sure I like Aliens but Battlefield Earth is also a sci fi action movie so it's just as good, right?

Gave up on the franchise about a third of the way through the second movie when it turned into the Wacky College Adventures of Sam Witwicky featuring the Transformers.

I get the fact the name recognition of the franchise helped a great deal, but I don't know how people can flock to or defend Transformers but the Pacific Rim does so relatively poorly at the box office, with even the chance of a single sequel in doubt.

The Asian market secured the sequel I believe, so basically, the US became the secondary audience for future Pacific Rim films.

They get Pacific Rim. We get Transformers.

Not only did that movie make explosions and fights between transforming robots from other planets boring, but that movie also made a slow-motion shot of Megan Fox's bouncing chest boring. Completely unforgivable.

Hey, it would probably have a better plot than a Michael Bay film.

/did they actually release Pacific Rim toys?

The (spoiler alert!) fight where Optimus Prime is eventually killed is great.  Megan Fox both disturbs me and makes my pants fit funny at the same time.  But they carried around something that could have revived Optimus Prime and instead used it on Jetfire.  The movie went on for another hour.  Even if they wrote the script after they built sets and filmed explosions, a monkey could have written a better plot around them for that second movie.  It's awful.

May I enquire the reasons for your dislike of Michael Bay's oeuvre, given that his films are so thoroughly entertaining? . I suspect you of simple jealousy, caused by a dearth of right thinking on your own part.

Next time you troll a Michael Bay thread, don't use French words - it's a dead giveaway you aren't one of his fans. They only know 'mericun. Same goes for fancy words like "dearth" or correctly spelling a word like "jealousy." You did get the improper "enquire" in there, so we'll give you one point for that.

Use an alt with a username like "3EarnhardtForever3"  - that will help boost your creds right away.

Just as well I didn't have to use the words "colour" or "ageing".
