(Courthouse News)   Pro tip for cops: If you're going to film your own Youtube reality series, making false arrests and filming yourself getting advice from the District Attorney on how to enter a house without a warrant, probably won't get you a TV deal   (entlawdigest.com) divider line 37

The entire law enforcement community of that county apparently went to the Barney Fife school of law.

Bu..bu..bu..bu..but there AREN'T any bad cops. Just a few. Not like, say, an entire town of them. It's unpossible. The good cops would put a stop to it.

Right? Wouldn't they?

Obviously. They are surround by other cops all day and I have been assured that most cops are good.

The only way all these stories about corrupt cops could possibly be true  is if all the other cops around them let them get away with it. But that can't be trued unless all those other cops are ......   hey wait a minute.

People of texas love authoritarianism, there's nothing wrong with what they are doing it is sanctioned by the people of the state.

Actually, this sounds EXACTLY like a reality show.

Get used to this. The Patriot Act specifically authorizes the issuance of search warrants after the fact. This sort of thing happens every day, often with people being killed, and no "law enforcement" officer is ever held to account. They have total immunity from prosecution for the murders and home invasions they commit every day, and are fully aware of that fact. These raids have been occurring over delinquent student loans, traffic tickets, overdue library books and loud parties.

The United States ceased to exist a long time ago.

If you don't want to be brutalized in your home don't get a traffic ticket. It's as simple as that.

This is super disgusting.
But I'm not very surprised. What stands out here are these people's stupidity.
Because, many cops already have other attributes needed for them to think this sort of thing is ok. Many are sociopaths or psychopaths, and sadistic. They love to (and basically LIVE to) ruin people's lives. They enjoy it greatly.
They do not understand what it is to feel guilty. They do not care about other people. They have absolutely no respect for the law. The only thing that keeps them from breaking certain laws is the fear of punishment.
And they enjoy causing people pain.

"To protect and to serve." ? This is quite often a fantasy.

Shame on the U.S.A. for continuing to allow this rampant, endemic, brutal, abuse of power.
We can be better than this.

Besides the terror and the physical and legal wounds, and ruined lives, that bad cops inflict on our nation, how many millions (billions?) of dollars each year do they cost every level of the government (often in cooperation with corrupt district attorneys) by manufacturing evidence as well as breaking all sorts of other laws, simply to satisfy their sadism and insatiable desire for power. [which is probably often because they are cowardly and pathetic human beings at least on the inside]

They are very mentally ill. Why should we allow all of this to continue?

The more you eat the more you fart: ...and they wonder why so many people hate cops.

QFT.

There are so many parts about this story that should appall any American citizen. The worst part? She's going to have to go through months or years of legal process to get any justice whatsoever, for no good reason, because these assholes thought it was a good idea to completely ignore her rights and exploit not just her, but her kid, the law, a judge, and the D.A. solely to film a goddamned YouTube video.

Why are these cops still walking around, instead of in jail on a variety of charges ranging from breaking & entering, to assault, to conspiracy? Why is it that she has to be the one to initiate the legal process, rather than the legal system itself? Why is it that, when the federal, state, or local government decides that you might be in the wrong, they can bring the full force of the government to bear on you, but when that they're in the wrong, you're left with little or no support, trying to find a lawyer willing to work on your behalf against them?
