Well, at least the father can now look forward to hot beef injections while in prison.

Father-of-the-Year injects his 4 year old son with heroin, ketamine, morphine and codeine...

So is that four seperate injections, of one drug each, or is it one injection containing a cocktail of all four drugs? 'Cause it'd be mean to poke the kid with a needle four times...

Smelly Pirate Hooker: trappedspirit: Or, the mom shows up to pick up the kid and finds the dad passed out with a syringe and thinks she can wipe the whole slate clean.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to blame the mother. Less than 50 comments. I expected it to be sooner, honestly.

Anything this major, especially involving a child, demands that everyone on the scene be subjected to an investigation at minimum.  This is not a sexist statement, and the same would hold true if the roles were reversed.

Just because you don't want to believe something happened, isn't cause enough to dismiss it as a possibility.

Heh. You have obviously never spent any time in family court. She probably would have lost custody if she hadn't.

My ex was just going to shoot our kid. He must have been a much nicer guy than this one. I mean--yeah, that's what they told me.

Pangea: trappedspirit: Or, the mom shows up to pick up the kid and finds the dad passed out with a syringe and thinks she can wipe the whole slate clean.

DING! DING!. I got a similar notion when I heard there was a "syringe full of drugs" laying on the child's chest. That has to be bullshiat, and makes me suspect the mother too.

In any scenario that results in the father passing out from an OD, he had to inject himself last. He either ends up with an empty syringe, or one he passed out in the middle of injecting himself.

There is no logical scenario that ends with him refilling a syringe and leaving it on the son. Doesn't mean he deserves custody, it just shows that the child needs to be put into foster care.

If you click on the linked words in the article, it takes to articles with better information.

"Eric Emil Lehtinen, 37, is accused of repeatedly jabbing in young son with needles and injecting him with heroin and a cocktail of other drugs, among them ketamine, morphine and codeine.   He then injected himself with high doses of drugs, as well."

"Medical staff at the hospital found puncture wounds on his neck and buttocks, indicating needle sticks, court documents say."

"A needle was still sticking out of the boy's chest, according to police."

So, the needle wasn't found  onthe boy's chest but  in his chest.  The Gawker article fails to get the story straight.

Also found this:
"A search of Lehtinen's Redmond home turned up seven syringes containing what police believe are drugs as well as three used syringes in bedroom. A search also turned up $12,620 in cash in the home."

Daddy may be dealing too....though a good dealer never uses his own product so probably not dealing.   Of course the mother can now ask for (and will most likely get) full custody and have the father's visitation rights completely revoked.

"She had returned to the Seattle area for a job interview. She let her son stay with Lehtinen, though she had wanted the final child-custody order in the divorce to require drug tests.

Lehtinen told her that he had quit using drugs. She found him depressed, she told police, but didn't see any reason the boy couldn't stay with him."

Also, a few things may have occurred on why she left her son with him:

1) She may have scheduled the interview during a time when he had visitation.

2) She might not have been able to find or be able to afford a sitter and might not have family nearby or friends able to help out at the time she needed her son supervised.

3) A custodial agreement usually has a "Right of First Refusal" provision which basically means (in the context of this case) if the mother would need to leave the son with a babysitter for some reason, she is required to ask the father if he would want to watch the son while she goes to this interview.  If he says 'no' then she can get a sitter.  If he says 'yeah, I'll watch Junior" then she has to allow him to babysit their son.   If she doesn't do this and the court finds out, she could face different consequences and it would harm her chances of getting full custody.

We don't know all the facts in the case

gja: Give him liberal doses of LSD, then make him sit through slasher and Fellini movies. until he has a f%#@king heart attack from the visual overload.
Also, add in people in costumes right next to him and disco lights in the room. Make his mind blow straight outta his skull.
Oh yeah, and testicular electrocution, too.

No. LSD and put him on "It's A Small World" on a loop.

You're right.  There's only one possible scenario.  Nice police work, Lou.  Let's fry the bastard.  Is that how your mind works?

Nightmare fuel. What an evil bastard, but thanks for the details. I hope the kid is young enough to get over this.

Pawn takes the King: Not the best thing to help with custody..

Awarding custody to a woman who left a 4-year-old with someone who she knows is a heroin addict might not help either. The child should go to foster care.

Maybe she had to because the court said so?

Silly, the rules of family court only apply when they are punishment towards the (ex)husband.

That's sick and cruel.
I like the way you think.

Things I would do:
1. Quickly pick up syringe that's left, pump what's left and what I could find in the man. Scrub the needle free of my fingerprints quickly.
2. Rush son to hospital!
3. Pray the overdose kills that piece of shiat of a man.

Silly dad, you're supposed to wait until the Russians get close to the Fuhrerbunker before you do that; ask Magda Goebbels.

At least, according to an acquaintance that spent 7 years in the pen, the only thing that inmates hate worse than child abusers are dead-beat dads.

There will not be enough drugs to save this guys ass once he gets in. I hope they load him up with some-a that new Krokodil shiat I keep hearing about.
