Looks like perfect conditions. 13 minute status poll and then we'll see if they light this candle.

That really is a lot of leather to be wearing... coincidentally, it's Folsom weekend in San Francisco. Those really DO look like clip-rings on her bracelet, too...

I have my 5-year-old niece and my 12-year-old nephew watching this with me. It's not a Saturn-V, going to the Moon, but it'll do.

Curious to see if the new engine circular configuration is a big improvement over the old square one.

Yee-haw!!!

After first stage seperation, they are going to do 2 burns with the residual fuel to see if they can get a soft point landing in the ocean.

Wait.. is this thing pointing north or south?  I really should have gone outside.

/Not really, never saw any other launches from Vandenberg, it's too high by the time it'd be visible from the SF area.
//Woo first separation. Shame the downlink seems so inconsistent. They need to get better 4G from space.

Vandenberg always launches south over the ocean for orbital stuff.  They launch west towards Hawaii and Guam when they test ICBMs

Nice and tidy.  I want to hear about the 1st stage descent though.  I heard one line about engine restart but nothing further.

Perfect launch -- awesome.  And they 3d print the engine combustion chamber and cooling jacket as a single unit -- of course their 3d printer uses a layer of metal powder fused by laser rather than soft plastic..

Definitely clip-rings on that "bracelet." She's definitely sending out a freaky vibe.

Same here, that's actually the most potentially ground breaking part of the whole flight.

Supposed to have a recovery boat nearby.  How close "nearby" is, is anyone's guess.

Are you trolling, or what?

They are in incremental development, with the ultimate goal of having the first stage and second stage fly back to the launch pads.

That's stupid, the Shuttle was a disaster.

Don't forget to buy the XXL "periodic table of elements" cartridge, it's a biatch to run out of tungsten in the middle of printing out a rocket.

Also, print it out fully fueled, it's cheaper that way.
