Will God smite Cleveland one more time by having them lose three days in a row and somehow not even win a wild card?

Technically it can happen:
1) Indians lose; Tampa/Rangers win
2) Tampa over Cleveland on Monday
3) Rangers over Cleveland on Tuesday
4) Cleveland misses the playoffs.

kidding of course.  sigh...I've been a cleveland fan long enough to know it's not only possible...but probable.

one can dream.

Know who it must suck for? The Nats. They'll be the only NL team with a winning record to not make the post-season.

Even with this baseball drama I'll still watch football all day.

I wanna see another one game playoff just to see if they blow another infield fly call again.

Go three way tie!

Gonna watch this unfold in the best place of all: the bleachers at Safeco.

You're getting ahead of yourself.  Losing a playoff series isn't another example of God smiting Cleveland.  Like every other team and city out there, the Browns, Cavs, and Indians have lost more playoff series/games than just The Drive, The Fumble, etc. That scenario would suck, but it would not be to the "God hates Cleveland" level.  Shoot, the Indians meltdown at the end of the 2006 season was worse than this.  You have to really lose in shocking, heartbreaking fashion to make the list of Cleveland sports misery.  This would not qualify.  Go Tribe.

So did Cleveland make significant roster changes between '12 and '13 or did Francona have that much of an impact?

Keep in mind that the Indians wouldn't even be in this position were it not for the Rangers' epic collapse.

Grew up on the great A's teams of the early 70's and the Beavers of the old PCL. Always wear an A's tee under my M's jersey when I go.

Would I be correct in assuming that if the Braves win and Cards lose, that the Braves get the #1 seed in the NL?

I can see where you're coming from, but seeing as how there were no expectations of making playoffs this year and now people are starting to have faith in looking like they will "likely" make the playoffs and following the team more, this scenario would be a perfect Cleveland season ending.

Depends on who has the tiebreaker, but according to the standings, nobody has clinched best record in the NL, so I think so?

So much for the Rangers backing in if they lose.  Darvish has seen the Rangers lose four 1-0 games he started in the in the second half of the season.  Is Yu gonna have to choke a biatch?

Unfortunately, the Mariners will throw up every possible roadblock to make sure that doesn't happen.

Jays are 58 games under .500 against the AL East for the last ten years.

That and this game summarizes this year and this team perfectly.

But with Darvish pitching, I'm not holding my breath.

Stanton scores on a wild pitch to give the guy in the on deck circle a no-hitter. This is a real thing that just happened

If we can't get a three team tie, can we at least get a Rangers-Rays tie?

Joe Maddon shows why is manager of the year again - calms down Peralta, fires up the defense, and helps his team out of a bases loaded jam. No other manager makes such a difference on the field.

GO RAYS!

3-0 Cards at the Stretch, 10-4 Braves. Cards/Wild Card and Braves/Dodgers as it stands.

Dang - I was kinda hoping to see that.  It would have been funny.  Still, better that he have his last moment, a perfect moment, in New York.
