Which high school did Mizzou play this week? Bring in a halfway decent team, and they won't be undefeated anymore.

How has Mizzou gone four games without playing anyone in conference yet? I ask this as a Mizzou fan.

Oh wow, just look at the schedule starting October 12th: http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/142/missouri-tigers

Big 12 like the Big 10 schedules their first 4 games as out of conference.  Mizzou is just finishing their commitments before going into a traditional SEC schedule.

Well A&M and Florida both lost a couple weeks ago so I'm gonna guess it's Missouri.

how the fark could the answer possibly be florida?  they suck.

/also, mizzou should probably not just schedule junior high teams for non-conference games...
//and this situation will resolve itself next week.

As self-appointed president (and probably sole member) of the NCAA Undefeated Equality Society, I must note that the SEC is far from the only conference with undefeated teams.

The list:

Alabama
Baylor
Clemson
Florida St.
Fresno St.
Houston
Louisville
Maryland
Miami (FL)
Michigan
Missouri
Northern Illinois
Northwestern
Ohio St.
Oklahoma
Oregon
Stanford
Texas Tech
UCLA
Washington

That's 20 teams.

Yep.  So far they've played Murray State, Indiana, Toledo, and Arkansas State.  I'm pretty sure even someone like Illinois could have gone undefeated with that schedule.

Mizzou's OOC schedule is screwed up because of realignment.  They had to abandon Miami Ohio last year and replace them with Syracuse (when they were already playing Arizona State).  Arkansas State had to be added to this season and we have to play at Arkansas State in 2015 even though we rarely play home and home with non-power conference teams.  It's hard to schedule schools at the last minute, so you take what you can get.

The idea that you play non-conference teams to start your season isn't set in stone, but it is a general guideline for scheduling.
Very few games the first two weeks are in-conference.  In October and November, the games that are non-conference are mostly Notre Dame or one of the other Independents, which cannot be a conference game by definition, or are games that just couldn't fit into the schedule otherwise.
There is no official rule about when you play non-conference games.  The rule is only that you have to play 12 games, no more or less, unless one of the games is Hawaii at Hawaii, and there may be one or two other exceptions.
Likewise, there isn't even a rule that says the games have to be split evenly between home and away.  For example, this year Nebraska has 8 home games, including its first 5 in a row.

Ooooh, probation. How big and scary a punishment that ensures nothing will ever go wrong at that university again.

As it stands now the colleges all think they're above the law and can do whatever they want while holding the student body up as goddamn human shields any time someone tries to bust them. There are only two things I can even fathom making an actual difference:

1) The death penalty. Shank someone. Anyone. Send a message to the rest of the prison yard. Though that might not even be enough. Even after the death penalty, SMU is showing as having been on probation around the turn of the millennium. (USC appears to be the best historical candidate given the numbers, though Florida International also looks like it's a death penalty waiting to happen.)
2) Take a page out of soccer's playbook and order games to be played behind closed doors. No fans. No marching bands. No college-football pageantry of any kind. The two teams simply show up inside an empty stadium, have their game and leave. The part that would really sting the affected college is the part where this would also mean no concessions sold, no merchandise sold, and that the fans who bought tickets would be entitled to refunds. The kids get to play, the higher-ups take a big, likely budget-shattering wallop in the pocketbook.

Would be funny if they hadn't already played as many decent teams than OSU will play all year. I will laugh my ass off if they go undefeated but don't make the NCG because they haven't played a decent schedule. Their only hard game was yesterday.

In order for that to happen, you'd have to have multiple undefeated teams from non-AAU BCS conferences.  When was the last time that happened?  Even in the year that had five undefeated teams, two of those were in non-BCS conferences and one was in the Big East.

Hog fan here...
Bobby Petrino got canned because he lied to school administration.  Neither the NCAA, nor the school cared that he was having an extramarital affair.  The school cared that the affair was with a woman whom he had made sure got a highly-sought-after and good-paying job with said school.
But yes, it was still lying to superiors, and there was a paper trail to boot.

Uh yeah, also using his status to get a cop to cover it up who he was with, that they were drunk, and to lie on an official report. Don't forget originally the administration was going to help cover up who he was with until the story got out.

Mizzou is the other undefeated SEC team cause they haven't played anyone in the SEC yet. At 4-0 now, they could finish anywhere from 5-7 to 7-5, in my estimation, most likely 6-6, enough to qualify for the TidE Bowl.

No argument here.  Because of his wacky hijinks I had to spend a year watching my team being commanded by John L Smith.

The only respite was in knowing that his contract ended the day after the LSU game.
