SeedFreak: His "bronyism" may have been the last straw for the boss and other employees. There's more to the story that's not being told. I would love to hear from his co-workers and employer.
one-in-the-chamber: if I had been his boss, and he started talking to my daughter about her MLP t-shirt, he'd have been lucky if all he got was fired on the spot./no I am not a internet tough guy.
Barry Lyndon's Annuity Cheque: one-in-the-chamber: if I had been his boss, and he started talking to my daughter about her MLP t-shirt, he'd have been lucky if all he got was fired on the spot./no I am not a internet tough guy.He said "I like your shirt," and the girl probably said thanks and blushed.I once told a kid in wearing "Vote for Pedro" that his shirt was awesome. Do I deserve death?
RatMaster999: Not a brony, haven't seen the show. Still, I can't see them as being any stranger than the people who paint their faces in team colors at sporting events, or wears a t-shirt with a picture of their favorite wrestler on it.
Brosef Stalin: I don't buy it. Any adult male who is obsessed with MLP to the point of being a self titled `brony` more likely than not has serious mental health issues or emotional problems. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy actually got fired for something like masturbating at his desk in his grandma's underwear but has convinced himself that it's because of discrimination instead. People get fired for good reasons all the time and rather than take responsibility for it, it's always someone else's fault.
willfullyobscure: The only way he could have been creepier is if he kept a roll of duct on his desk and wore a fedora.
Gomamon: And with that being said, if you know your interests are outside of the norm and even are perceived as having a sexual or pedophile-type correlation, it's best to keep such things out of a professional environment.
Barry Lyndon's Annuity Cheque: Gomamon: And with that being said, if you know your interests are outside of the norm and even are perceived as having a sexual or pedophile-type correlation, it's best to keep such things out of a professional environment.Which is why gay people should never mention that they're gay, or acknowledge their lifestyle in any way among colleagues./this is sarcasm to make a point
Barry Lyndon's Annuity Cheque: I once told a kid in wearing "Vote for Pedro" that his shirt was awesome. Do I deserve death?
starsrift: He sounds like a lying liar. " On my work computer I had decided to set a picture of Applejack as my desktop background, I figured it was no big deal, nobody would see it anyway " except THAT THEY DID."some of my co-workers were talking about it and Brony culture. I tried to talk with them about it and I subsequently got mocked.... people started making little jabs in the hallway about liking shows for girls and stuff... I do nothing but sit in my little hell-cube and do work all day, I hardly interact with anybody"except ALL THOSE PEOPLE who were picking on the dude and making fun of him because he's a manchild who fanboys out over preteen girl cartoons. It doesn't matter if it's MLP or Jesus, leave the proselytizing at home. What kind of moron is this guy that he thinks this is a work-appropriate conversation topic? Nobody wants to talk brony at work; what did he imagine, team brony would come over from accounting to save him and they'd have magical adventures together?
Mein Fuhrer I Can Walk: Jeezus. Rule one is to always keep your embarrassing, guilty pleasures secret. You do not talk about that shiat with your co-workers, no matter what it is. The water cooler is not a place for it. Talk culture in general terms, certainly, but if your office mates are the type to spring into machismatic mockery why the hell would you ever bring up a topic like that?
