As a Chiefs fan, I feel bad for the Vikings.  Not enough to prevent me from laughing uncontrollably, however.

Why not. Can't be worse, and it's not like the Steelers will present them with much challenge defensively

Did you not see Joe Webb attempt to play QB in the playoffs last season?

Even against Green Bay's asstastic defense he was ... not good.

Yes, but he's not a QB anymore

Yes, but my point was: Yes, it can certainly be worse. Much worse. And I provided an example of that from this very team recently.

At what point does the fact that the person attempting to play QB in that example is no longer playing that position relevant?

All you have to remember is three letters: MBT

Serious question: have the Vikings ever had a decent QB aside from Old Man Favre?

It's so cute that you believe that.

Ah, forgot about Moon.

/when did Cunningham join?
//I was also going to make that silly "Culpepper was only good because he had Moss!" point, but I decided against it

None of the three QBs the Vikings have should be on the roster in 2014.

Cunningham went to the Vikings after the Eagles.  I remember him playing as a Viking vs. the 49ers in the playoffs, so it should have been mid 90s.  I'm too lazy to look it up right now tho.

You only stipulated "decent", so Culpepper definitely counts.

I'm starting Cassel this weekend in our 2QB league. Picked him up before he was named starter. In a 12 man 2QB league, there aren't many options  on the wire, and 2 teams anticipated this, stuffing their bench with all of the undrafted scrubs, hoping to force a trade.

Screw those guys.

I think he was the QB that year they were , like, 15-1. Think it was Moss' rookie year, also.

"Hello, and welcome to Wembley Stadium here in north-west London. I'm Julian Stansted. Here in the commentary booth with me is Nigel Heathrow and Jeremy Smythe-Gatwick-South-Terminal. What do we have to look forward to today, Jeremy?"

"Cakes. A Mrs.Luton sent us a lovely sponge cake and a trifle from Hitchin in Hertfordshire, Both of them strawberry. Quite nice..."

"Well, that's Jeremy out of commission until the next England home qualifier. Nigel?"

"Thanks, Julian. I've been looking at the two squads coming into today's game. The Pittsburgh (pronounced like Edinburgh) midfielder in the number 7 shirt has a really good throw-in so he'll always be taking them in today's match. Benjamin Rottles-Harper, something like that, big lad, reminds me of a slightly more psychotic Wayne Rooney. Although I hear their free kick and penalty taker on the team is lousy; I saw some highlights of a game they were playing last week, he kept hoofing it into the stands. Or at least it would have gone into the terraces. They must know it's a problem for Pittsburgh FC because they have nets above the goal and it kept hitting them."

"Doesn't sound like he's up to snuff, Nigel..."

"Not half, Julian. Other team was so confident he'd miss, the goalie wasn't even in the area. Not that I could see one, anyway. Looked like rugby posts were up on that game and he was kicking conversions for the Leeds Rhinos."

"And what about their competition?"

"They're Vikings. Real Vikings, so you can imagine what that means. If they win, it'll be the settling of the Kingdom of Jórvík in the 9th Century all over again. Longboats on the coast, stealing rape, pillaging, pretty much like a normal Saturday night anywhere in Yorkshire nowadays, really."

"Well, Julian, neither squad have the firepower to compete with New England Hotspur.

Actually, for all their problems with their offense the Steelers' defense is still pretty tight. When the offense gives up direct points, horrible field position, and makes the D play for 40 minutes a game it's inevitable that the defense will give up points. The Vikings are going to have themselves a hell of a time, don't kid yourself otherwise.

Taking a page from the Jaguars' playbook, this new position will be abbreviated HO.
