Being such a drama queen doesn't really help the cause that much. If anything it backfires in theme because people are naturally a little suspicious when faced with histrionics like this.

2013-09-28 05:36:00 PM
I won't fly if I can avoid it and I'm never having kids.  Not because of their effects on climate, just because I hate flying and I can't stand being around kids.

DAMMIT IT'S STILL REAL TO HIM!

No, if he gets a vasectomy, he'll really never get over it.

Was he just imitating Wolowitz from the last Big Bang Theory episode?

I think all the global warming supporters should voluntarily sterilize themselves. A human being uses an immense amount of natural resources and the world is crowded enough as is.

Sure, that totally addresses all the concerns relating to global warming. You showed those hippies.

In this case, "peer review" means psychiatric evaluation for the AGW loons.

I wonder if he takes local and national politicians and bureaucrats and their paid experts so seriously? He should, it's the same sort of career building and motivations going on at the UN that goes on in any political body.

Good luck trying to have a vasectomy because no surgeon in existence could find your balls or your sack buddy.

Population control is indeed part of the climate change agenda. Or should I say it's always been part of the agenda that climate change pushes forward. Remember all the overpopulation stuff of the 1970s? It just got rolled up in climate change.

Except the thousands of scientists around the world are not part of the UN. I think they'd notice if the UN was misrepresenting their results.

Unless they too are in on the conspiracy!!!!!

There is no agenda. Conflating the fact that AGW would be less if population was less (simple math) with whack-job conspiracy theories is just denier propaganda.

So supporters as in those that like to spew as much CO2 as possible without concern for the environment?

I'd be for that.

You realize, of course, that examiner.com is not really a news source?

About examiner.com:

Examiner.com launched in April 2008, to provide freelancers across the United States with a platform to share their knowledge and expertise through informative and entertaining content. We have an in-house editorial team that provides guidance and mentorship to the contributors. Our network has grown to over 100,000 contributors, captivating our audience with interesting, entertaining, relevant content on a variety of topics. Examiner.com is a top 100 website, reaching over 37 million unique visitors a month.*

http://www.examiner.com/about

Like many notorious sources of denialist propaganda, it is a sort of vanity press where anybody who fancies themselves a journalist can get help "publishing". We see a steady stream of this stuff on Fark.com, but some of it is actually paid for, like, you know, professional jouralism and Onion satires.

This is marginally less likely to have happened than an Onion satire. But on the bright side, it has not been picked up by the Red Chinese press yet.

I don't fly.  Not due to global warming, but due to the TSA.  I don't want kids because I enjoy having disposable income.  My sister had kids so the DNA will continue.

What it's all about is finding something they can use to control the people.  You can't have a totalitarian government with maximum oppression without a viable boogeyman.

2013-09-28 06:35:30 PM
It's a principled stand. People concerned about climate change should avoid flying.

If you deny global warming, you are also likely to:

1) Drive an SUV but live in a suburb
2) Have a pool even though you live near a lake or the beach
3) Frequent Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, or Red Lobster
4) Have kids with "B" names
5) Prefer women with large breasts
6) Post Facebook status updates regarding sports
7) Own a grill
8) Celebrate an anniversary at a theme park
9) Think The Hangover movies are modern classics
10) Have a tattoo of a family name or crest

The basic premise of this piece is that if you are concerned about the environment, you should kill yourself.

Personally, I think it would be more profitable to kill somebody with a heated patio and swimming pool that they use in the depths of Winter in the UK, the Northern US, or Canada.

Don't beat yourself up over global warming. Beat the shiat out of Lord Monckton.

The TSA isn't nearly as bad as it's made out to be. Yeah, you have to take your shoes off, but that's really the only difference.

It's a UN report. The report will say man is causing climate change. The data can say absolutely anything, the UN report will say man is causing significant climate change. Read more government reports and then do data analysis yourself. You'll begin to notice that the conclusions and recommendations reports have often don't really reflect what the actual work is saying. Look at the graphs and data carefully. The political massaging to get the desired conclusions becomes clear. It's done with things as trivial as red light cameras, by only counting collisions within the bounds of the intersections thus eliminating the rear enders from people slamming on their brakes because of the cameras. Compared to CO2 climate change red light cameras are chump change. Always ask, "who benefits?"

Unless they too are in on the conspiracy!!!!!

There are no conspiracies. If a scientist wants his career to go forward, he can do research that supports man made climate change. That's what the funding from the UN, governments, foundations, and more is there for. Or he could do research that goes against this cultural belief and find himself unemployed, considered a crank, and then eventually driving a taxi for a living. It's really that simple.

And when you put a bunch of scientists together who have their livelihoods on the line, you get politics, just like with any other group of human beings.

I knew it had to be a joke the moment I read the word "weatherman". Well, the examiner.com logo helps.

There is no person on the face of the Earth whose opinions are more valueless than those of a weatherman. Or maybe a weathergirl, but I don't want to be sexist so I will assume that a bottle of hydrogen peroxide is at least as well-informed on political issues as a weather girl or man.

You sound like an open minded person. I suggest more reading. Population control efforts predate this CO2 global warming push. Political synergies develop. Just like the political synergies with CO2 driven climate change and collectivism. Collectivism also predates CO2 driven climate change.

Now you can call names like "denier" but whether CO2 causes climate change or not is simply irrelevant to my point. There are many political agendas that existed long before this global warming thing really got going but today these agendas are pushed as being beneficial to fighting climate change. You may want to deny it, but the texts exist. Even a founder of Greenpeace has said as much.

This. I actually felt like polluting a little after I read that just to keep myself from turning into such a wus. Much the same feeling I get whenever I come across a Captain Planet episode.

And you sound like someone who likes to read all the scaremonger sites.

Please explain this: Whenever the UN tries to get involved with any world conflict there are endless posts about "strongly worded letters". The collective opinion of pretty much all fark appears to be that the UN is impotent.

But, when the subject is AGW, suddenly the UN becomes a clandestine super-power bent on world domination.

So which is it? Impotent letter-writers or evil force for world domination??

You may as well replace the words "climate change" in your post with "heliocentrism", "big bang" and "carbon dating".

Bad scientists get black balled for advocating the objectively false, that's nothing new.
