That and who cares about the food's DNA? Your body wants the chemicals, not the DNA.

Stupid article is stupid.

Thanks for that. Sounded like bullshiat to me. Though I was thinking maybe she used a plastic container for the microwaved water and something leached out of the plastic.

Oh, and from the Snopes link this is from 2006.

You're welcome; I have a friend who is such a staunch supporter of "science" that he believes a middle-school girl's science project is more valid than Snopes's disproving of same.

It was a government false flag operation

What they did is they entered the home late at night and replaced it with a dying plant.

Why? Simple

Nuking water makes fluoride multiply. They would have gotten caught if they didn't shiat all over this brave young girls patriotic science experiment.

seriously
we should use this "study" as part of a voter test.
if you think that this study is real and you should stop using your microwave, you are banned from voting. EVER AGAIN.

Should ask people from the south to help. They are the experts of disenfranchisement.

They were smart enough to understand that African Americans didn't have the intelligence level to make rational choices. They did it because they knew they were doing them a favor.

/I know many throw that around as a joke (stupidity tests for voting rights), but those who say it wholeheartedly are no better than southerners.

I don't use one...and haven't for 10 years.

Why does anyone need a microwave?

Of course I do, a 42" flat screen attached to my HTPC. Don't have cable though...but only because I can watch everything on the net for free.

cretinbob: And people look at me sideways when I say I don't use a microwave

Interesting enough my old microwave I had for ten years died the week before I moved into my new house. On a whim I decided I simply wasn't going to replace it. At first, it was a rough transition and I really missed the convenience but now I don't notice it at all. I have been microwave free for a year and a half now.

I've never bought one.  If one happened to be around I would occasionally use it to warm something up.  That's about it though.

Jesus, that made my brain hurt. Just saw a couple of doofuses linking to it on Facebook...

Some things wrong with it:

1.- DNA? We don't care about the food DNA... We don't do anything with it and we're eating the food after it's dead, so...

2.- "Microwaves agitate the molecules to move faster and faster." Uh, do you know what "heat" is? It's molecules moving faster and faster...

3.- "This movement causes friction which denatures the original make-up of the substance." As does regular cooking. Heat in all its forms gradually denatures the nutrients of the food.

4.-  "These things that are not found in nature." You mean, just like aspirin and tons of medicines? Like computers, maybe?

I've been microwave free for at least five years.  Food just tastes better when it doesn't come frozen out of a box and is ready in 10 minutes instead of five.
Now when I'm at work I'll admit to cracking open a can of ravioli and nuking it from time to time, but more often I'll still throw it in a pot and warm it that way.

It's not the microwave, it's the mind controlling chemicals in the prepackaged food.  Don't tell me that you don't notice things after eating HCFS.  The random thoughts about how bad things are, the desire to vegetate and watch local news.  Oh yes, the HFCS is a GMO that makes you susceptable to the mind control subfequencies that the local news stations have been pumping out.

Don't believe me?  Turn off the TV.  You'll quickly find you're less paranoid.  I turned mine off years ago.  Now all I watch are shows online and on channel 6.3 in Boise TNN is broadcasing country music again.  Older stuff, texas country, red dirt country.  I'm not afraid anymore.  I've seen what the HFCS can do to people.  It's scary stuff.  Too much of that and you'll start believing in chemtrails and other nonsense.

Jesus christ, he has menu items called "Conspiracy News" and "Interesting News" -- where is "Real News"?

/not that there is much "real news" out there with the sorry state of our editors and journalists

Great. I know of at least 2-3 people I known on Facebook that will end up posting this horseshiat thinking it's true. Same thing with that stupid "New drug called strawberry Kwik" shiat that's made the rounds a few times. Does everyone take this kind of shiat as gospel truth because some goofy as blog or conspiracy website says so or something?

This is as retarded as the claim that DVD & Blu ray players and their discs are radioactive, and that people need to keep their players outside of the house at least 25 feet away (hooked up to your TV by a looooonnng cable).

I don't understand this anti-microwave fad that seems to have been growing in the past few years. I cook a lot, and I'm quite skilled at it, but with the SO and myself both in grad school and working full-time, it's a necessity to have ready to cook meals on hand.

When I have the time I'll turn on the range, heat up a few pans and skillets and cook, using herbs, vegetables and peppers from my own garden. But mostly I don't have the time. And now it's like the new hipster fad to rally against microwaves because they imply suburban complacency and convenience or something like that.
