That has to be satire, right?  Please tell me it's satire.

Coco LaFemme: That has to be satire, right?  Please tell me it's satire.

There's no satire or sarcasm to be found on this web site.  Drew Curtis personally handpicked this article because it is one of the most serious issues facing our country.

They had to omit the comma to save characters for the headline.

They are the people who prevent this sort of thing from happening.  Once we have run through the entire lot, reality becomes inseparable from fantasy.

I have no real response to this. I'll just sit here with my jaw agape in stunned disbelief.

Huh.  Ari Fleischer opened his mouth and proved himself a fool.  How about that.

The article didn't bother to tell us that there are Twitter-scraper-bots all over the world, looking for tweets that are over 140 characters.  These bots are monitored by various America-hating terrorist cells just waiting for the signal to strike.

Twitter would grant that privilege to Justin Bieber or Wil Wheaton first, if it existed.

This is probably the least dumb of all the dumb things to worry about with regard to the GOP voter. Maybe he has some kind of emergency broadcast system power. How is a 69-year-old bumpkin supposed to know?

2013-09-27 03:15:28 PM
The alleged "debunking" cleverly ignored the fact that Obama's tweets all include dozens of invisible Evil Wingdings symbols, such as pentagrams, crescents, single mothers, affordable health care, or happy gunless people, all designed to subconsciously corrode the American spirit.  And while corroding the American spirit is explicitly required by the Twitter TOS, it's just bad form to do it with font tricks.

2013-09-27 03:25:17 PM
Does Obama actually tweet himself or does he have some organization to do it in his name like Michelle?

2013-09-27 03:25:26 PM
Fine.  I'll say it.  It's time to add Twitter" to the List of Things Conspiringa Against the GOP and Therefore America.

Why the fark do they run a survey on every goddamn little thing? Did they filter out people who don't even know or care what a "Twitter" is? If you ask a bunch of people about every little inane thing of course you're going to get a bunch that don't even know what you're talking about and will make shiat up...

Are you saying it's not dumb to worry that Obama might have an emergency broadcast system power? Like the actual Emergency Broadcast System? (Okay, EAS and whatever it is that mobile phones use).

How else are we supposed to know to get under our desks before the Soviet missiles hit?

flynn80: Does Obama actually tweet himself or does he have some organization to do it in his name like Michelle?

Obviously the President doesn't spend his whole day on Twitter.  When he personally sends out a tweet, he "signs" it at the end by adding something like -bo

Republicans and right wing troll accounts:
Don't you never feel bad about how wrong and stupid your pundits are?  I mean, they're not even just wrong about complex issues.  They're wrong about things like farkING COUNTING.  They can't even count the number of letters in a Tweet, that's how stupid your heroes and pundits are.

He farts what he wants to say on a bongo.  It is translated from Morse Code and then translated from Kenyan to English and sent to George Soros.  Soros makes any changes he wants and sends it David Ayers who posts it on a proxy account for Obama.

2013-09-27 03:49:45 PM
Gotta love when a facet of the GOP`s paranoid alternate reality can be debunked by anyone with the ability to actually count to 140. And even if they did find a tweet that went over the limit, so farking what?? Twitlonger (which admittedly, is annoying if someone uses it too often) allows anyone to do it.

2013-09-27 03:51:02 PM
You know, they're kinda right; given what's going on in Washington these days, there are more important things to worry about; it's not like he doubled down on it. ("But the letter 'O' counts as two characters, doesn't it?")

BUT!

It points to how desperate this lot is for the high ground. What a fascinating illustration it makes: someone trying to accuse the President of something not only with zero evidence, but with the information against the accusation right in front of him. You literally would have to be blind or illiterate. Bonus points for the fact that this guy is in communications.

And you can't help but think: They're really THAT hard up, aren't they? The level of desperation has gotten that high, hasn't it?

Put this on the pile with the umbrella, the arugula, and the paperclip for reasons why I don't listen to Republicans about Obamacare, the debt ceiling, or foreign affairs.

It's worth mentioning that among those who describe themselves as "very liberal", 35% think Twitter gives Obama more than 140 characters.  For "somewhat liberal", the number is 16%.

About 1 in 3 across all listed breakdowns said Twitter doesn't do this.

I'm not sure if this beats umbrella-gate for stupidest thing the GOP has complained about.

They both send tweets out themselves; you'll know it's them if they're signed "-bo" or "-mo."  Otherwise, they're sent out by the Organizing for Action staff.

You realize that surveys can ask multiple questions, right.

You realize that we have the actual survey, right?

Q1: Given the choices of Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindal, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Paul  Ryan, Rick Santorum, and Scott Walker, who would you most like to see as the GOP candidate for President in 2016?

Q2: Who do you trust more: Ted Cruz or Mitch McConnell?

Q3: Who do you trust more: Ted Cruz or John Boehner?

Q4: Who do you trust more: Ted Cruz or John McCain?

Q5: Would you support or oppose shutting down the government unless Obamacare is defunded?

Q6: Do you think Twitter allows President Obama to go over the 140 character limit for a tweet, or not?

Q7: Would you describe yourself as very liberal, somewhat liberal, moderate, somewhat conservative, or very conservative?

Q8: If you are a woman, press 1. If a man, press 2.

Q9: If you are 18 to 45 years old, press 1. If 46 to 65, press 2. If you are older than 65, press 3.

Seems to me like this is more of an issue of 65% of respondents not knowing how Twitter works.

rugman11: Seems to me like this is more of an issue of 65% of respondents not knowing how Twitter works.

They know that Obama is bad so they know how to answer.

And like I said, it's not like the twitter question was the only question asked in the survey.
