Sure, you laugh now. But he might have questioned the government using that pen!

This is what happens when you teach people to be terrified of weapons: they start seeing weapons in every shadow, invariably aimed straight at them.

A sense of humor will not be tolerated here young man.

Hang every asshole involved with the suspension and then hang their bosses for having such fascists in their employment.  You can be 100% guaranteed the next batch of people will not pull a stunt like this.

and we wonder why the handwritten word is dying out....this never would have happened with a cell phone!

Otherwise known as hoplophobia.  It's a severe mental illness that is rapidly spreading.

Is a pen, however, mightier than a half-eaten pop tart? What should the on-the-books regulations for these offenses? Are they equal?

Back when I was in the seventh grade, I brought a similar toy to school, though it was disguised as a lighter. I had a few hours of fun tricking my friends, and then we discovered that if you held it on your forearm it would make your hand dance.

At that point my teacher noticed and took it away. Before putting it in her desk she decided to "light" it. The class lost its collective shiat when she shrieked and dropped it on the floor.

I got it back at the end of school.

Well, yeah. I still have pencil lead in my hand from where this blonde kid named Kevin stabbed me with a pencil in 1st grade.

It was traumatic.

And affected me.

Deeply.

The season end of Dexter culminated (as much as this shiatty season could) with Dexter stabbing Saxon with a pen.

So yeah, that kid might be the next Dexter. Best be safe.

"Flowers are red, Young Man.
Green Leaves are green.
There is no reason
To see them anyother way
Than the way they have always been seen."

So, shove that blue pen.

Filed in U.S. District Court in Harrisburg, the suit claims the boy has been permanently classified as a violator of the Derry School District's weapons policy, has had his disciplinary record permanently "marred," and has been "relegated to the same category as violent criminals who bring knives, guns and explosives onto school property for the purpose of assault, murder, and even terrorism."

Plenty hysteria to go around, I guess.

Once again we have administrators showing us that zero tolerance policies make them obsolete. If you're not going to make exceptions to ridiculous rules in a book (that's called judgement) then you can be replaced by anyone with a 5th grade reading ability.
